Gold is HORRENDOUS, that chorus goes through me every time. Feels is much better!

The vocals on 'Sex' are cringeworthy

At least there are lyrics unlike that Kiiara monstrosity that has entered the itunes top 100. Just trying too hard to be cool and futuristic by using weird vocal effects that to me just sound like a broken record. Flume is doing that sort of thing too I really dont like this new genre I prefer smoother sounding songs.

Speaking of adverts, I wonder will that AronChupa track in the vodafone advert enter the itunes top 100 soon. I hope so it is very funky and better than I'm an Albatraoz. And Nora Ekberg shows quite some potential as a pop star, I wonder will she have a solo career? Much better than Zara Larsson or Tove Lo imo but then I am not a fan of these two.

Edit its at number 166 this might do as well as TIEKS as far as new (ish) 2016 advert songs go :)

Snake, do note there's an edit button, there's no need to double post in such quick succession.

I like 'Gold' although I get it's very much a love/hate kinda record

Same with Mumfords & Tom Odell always reach top 40 at this stage of the week.
'Gold' to smash pls

There has definitely been a trend towards minimal indie futuristic music recently with this, Flume and Mura Masa. Radio 1 loves this sound at the minute, please return it back to nighttime play where it used to be or no play preferably. The producers of this new genre are obviously trying to sound overcool and futuristic. Its just sounds like a broken record to me. Evolving music should not come at the expense of having a coherant tune rather than just a mix of sounds put together.

Unfortunately it's a shit advert and the song isn't used to great effect so I don't see it going much futher

It is a pretty bad advert mind you :( but that doesn't really affect advert song performances.

Anyway that song has flopped pretty badly anyway worldwide it was out in February apparently. Shame the inferior I'm An Albatraoz had all the success. Maybe Nora can go on a solo career or appear on more dance records she sounds like she could have good potential as a pop star, she's a bit Palomaish :) And she looks a bit like Tich too :o

Looks as though it's finally time to say goodbye to Drake at the top of the chart then :(

Good to see the likes of Tom Odell, Mumford and Sons and Jake Bugg get some decent gains in the chart of late - I do love a British indie singer  also that Kaleo song is fantastic, it seems to be doing a yo-yo at the moment though as it was around #20 last month, fell down to around #150 a few weeks ago and now it appears to be back.

Hope there's a few big releases tomorrow, I'd like to see Drake out of the top 10 soon.

Which is undisputedly the most important aspect of any pop singer ever.

We have Shawn Mendes who could possibly go iTunes top 10. Also releasing are DJ Snake, Lost Frequencies, Otto Knows/Avicii and Alan Walker but they probably won't make much initial impact.

:magic:

Would expect at least a few of those to go top 10 provided they're all advertised on the homepage of iTunes. Got my fingers crossed for Major Lazer to drop their new track too, I can't see them holding it back too long when it's already common knowledge it's coming.

I expect Shawn will make the iTunes top 10 tomorrow but will be frontloaded as he's got a decent sized fanbase. Think he can manage a top 40 debut though, I hope so anyway!
