Clean Bandit up to 79%.

This will most definitely go #1 within the next few weeks when airplay increases and the music video gets released.

The Kungs song may not be to your taste but you can't possibly call it 'depressing' or 'not upbeat' or 'not dance music'

What i am saying is it much less upbeat and much more chilled and understated than the Clean Louisa track.

In its effort to be overcool it comes across as much too serious, and I dont like the video too of the two lovers dancing in a cave, it just comes across as trying to be overcool when dance music should be fun.

No tropical house song compares to the original one Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina - Stereo Love, back then the sound was new and fresh.

On the subject of house music, it seems MK and Becky Hill isn't really taking off despite being on the radio 1 playlist and being iTunes low top 40 about a week ago. The inferior Tieks song (just derivative of Rather Be sung by a man to my ears) probably will sadly become a minor hit, as if seems likely Radio 1 will playlist it after being in the advert (like what happened with Ben Pearce)

Does anyone think p!nk will go top 10 this week?

I like her and just like fire. One of the best performances on the billboard awards this year.

No chance. She's not top 50 on Spotify.

I'm definitely for 'Tears' being #1. I was never a huge fan of Louisa on XF - mainly because she was clearly the producers' darling - but watching her on BGT proved she deserved to win and is 100% the most chart-friendly winner since Little Mix. I think Syco are aiming for the "Jess Glynne route" and getting Louisa featured on some big hit singles in order to give her some momentum before her real début single is released.

Yes - and a genius decision at that. Tears will be a big summer hit single, then her own debut out later on in year - I think she'll have a great debut era ahead of her.

The Clean Bandit track collaboration has massive crossover potential I think because of its disco influenced sound. I think like the Sigma and Take That track it will definitely be added to the Radio 2 playlist soon.

Next collaboration - Rudimental or Sigma perhaps? Like Clean Bandit they are dance acts which use real instruments, and that would give it the credibility the Clean Bandit track has and the crossover appeal too.

I just hope its not a tropical house follow-up they pick for her, too many of those recently for pop stars - Beiber, Fifth Harmony (Work From Home), Zara Larsson.

Its most likely her next song will be a ballad though.

I didn't realise you didn't like tropical house?! :o

“Paradise” up to 70, wonder if it will finally reach 1 million sales (it has almost 1.2M including streaming and the 118K ineligible sales from that instant grat rule).

I wouldn't call Fifth Harmony's Work From Home tropical house at all. Neither Zara Larsson really.

Zara Larsson's Lush Life definitely is imo, it has similar instrumentation to Kygo tracks (not including Kygo's recent track with Kodaline which is actually more trance influenced making it progressive house, the Fifth Harmony Work From Home, maybe not admittedly the production sounds like the Jerimih Don't Tell Em track which is probably organ house.

And yes Klumzee I am probably the only person on the forum who does not like tropical house. But I will not mention anything about the genre again, for you all know that.

Lush Life and Work From Home are definitely pop to my ears. They may have dance influences but at root they are definitely pop! Work From Home is more urban-inspired than dance I think actually ^_^

I agree with Joey and stick to my opinion, neither Work From Home, nor Lush Life is tropical house. Lush Life more pop with some dance influence, Work From Home is urban inspired pop.

TheSnake: you don't have to worry, tropical house is dying out now. :heehee:

Its an interesting discussion, so would you call that new Clean Bandit and Louisa Johnson song dance or pop then?

And Sex by Cheat Codes and Kris Kross Amsterdam and stuff like The Chainsmokers - Roses and DJ Snake - Middle confuses me is it R&B or dance?

I'd say it's definitely dance, the dance beats can be heard throughout and it'd go down a storm in a club I'm sure, although it's definitely got pop influences, like many dance songs that appear in the chart!

I cannot see any RnB influences in any of The Chainsmokers singles. They are clearly EDM with some trap.

DJ Snake has more urban influences but is EDM and trap.

Why does he need Justin Bieber in a hugely successful track?
