Womanizer, maybe no. I get that.

Don't get me wrong 'Toxic' is iconic and amazing. But, i am beginning to take it off all of my playlists. I truly skip it every time I'm hosting a body pump class or hear it on shuffle.

At this point I'd rather hear 'Mannequin' before I ever heard 'TOXIC' again.

Controversial view here, but Slave is one of her worst and wouldn't even be in my top 25/30.

I don't get it either

The top three here were all in my top four so no complaints there

Toxic is the song that made me aware of Britney, and it was love instantly. That video too, I remember it so vividly in my mind cause I saw it so often on music channels at the time. That's why it's my #1 and I hope it wins  I have equally fond memories of Everytime though so I wouldn't be gutted if that wins, it's my 2nd favourite and only marginally behind Toxic.
Oh that's a surprise! I thought top 2 on 'Baby...' was on lock. Surprised (but pleased) 'Everytime' managed to beat it. I am with Tyler in the sense that 'Toxic' is a pretty flawless pop song, but I still find it slightly overrated, oddly enough. I think that's just coz when we're comparing it to her other songs, it doesn't come close to the top for us. I also think that 'Toxic' and 'Everytime' probably benefitted from being the songs that majority of people here on Buzzjack now, grew up with that era/that era was the part they seemingly took notice of the charts etc... they'll always remember BOMT for the classic it is, but I think we'll be seeing 'Toxic' (and potentially 'Everytime') storm to victories in these rates and polls and things. Just like in about 5 years time, I suspect 'Gimme More' and 'Piece Of Me' to do a similar thing.
'Baby One More Time' will ALWAYS deserve #1. It is truly the song of a nineties kid's childhood.

Toxic is great, Everytime is better. But, NEITHER even compare to the magnificence of 'Baby One More Time'. The 'In The Zone' era is so overrated in the UK/ Europe. I'm truly starting to detest 'Toxic', and I'm sure it will win.

Singles better than 'Toxic:

-Baby One More Time

-(You Drive Me) Crazy

-Lucky

-Stronger

-Slave 4 U

- Overprotected

-Everytime

-Gimme More

- Womanizer ( NO YEAH, IM SERIOUS)

-Till the World Ends

-Work Bitch

And I'd probably appreciate it more if everyone didn't bum f*** the shit out of it every rate. Like, great, glad it's iconic. But, the fact it even DARES to place before the pop SONG of OUR TIME makes me pissed.

Also, saving this for last. Break The Ice > Toxic.

I feel better now. :D

Also, double high five to Jonathan!

Funnily enough 'BOMT' finished 3rd on my singles rate a couple of months ago, 'Toxic' will probably wins as it always seems to win these things.

#02 Everytime // Score: 157

(Jay, Jonjo, Jack, Ryan, : 10. JoeyJeppssonWall, Jade, Robot: 9)

Seen as the response to Justin Timberlake's 'Cry Me a River', is 'Everytime' a heartbreaking ballad. I think 'Everytime' is the only ballad single of Britney's that didn't feel too "poppy", the production, whilst very good was a lot more simplistic and so felt more serious and sombre. Of course, on the Vegas show she performs this as a giant, fuffy, flying angel, which throws all that out the window.

#01 Toxic// Score: 163

(JoeyJeppssonWall, Rob Spears, Jade, Nick F1, mr_pmt: 10. Heezus Froot, Jay, UV, J▲hq, liamk97, HarryEzra: 9)

And, of course, the winner is 'Toxic' ! 'Toxic', is so important to Britney, for a single from your 4th studio album, it was quite rare to boast your career's second mammoth-sized hit. After Britney's third era was slightly less successful than the first two, 'Toxic' cemented Britney' as the 00s' biggest popstar. It's still heard everywhere, and is probably just as remembered as BOMT, as it's accompanied by a hugely iconic music video and has an instantly recognisable instrumental.

I truly skip it every time I'm hosting a body pump class or hear it on shuffle.

You teach body pump? That's really cool. I go to those classes B-)

That top two was closer than i would've thought! Perfect top two and perfect winner anyway  'Toxic' is one of my favourite songs of all-time, so good.
