June 23, 201610 yr Author I actually think holding the album back on Spotify, putting the singles on as you release them... and then adding the album a few months later is really smart and wise strategy. Beyonce did it with her last album and I wish she was doing it this time round.

Even holding back streaming for just a week after release could have its benefits.
June 23, 201610 yr Drake is #1 by 300 copies ahead :drama: will he get a 12th week  :nocheer: Update incoming by a co-mod
June 23, 201610 yr Okay, this is relation to next week's chart, but Adele should experience an even greater boost following her Glastonbury performance as her album will finally be available on Spotify! :cheer: http://www.digitalspy.com/music/news/a7989...ing-to-spotify/ Once again Adele's team showing others how it's done - She's achieved almost 3 million 'actual' sales, had 3 hit singles and now making it available to stream to coincide with a big performance. Essentially after 3 single releases and promo the majority of people wanting to pay for the album have done so and this will just give it a potentially big sales boost - I own the album but will stream it out of ease.
June 23, 201610 yr Drake is #1 by 300 copies ahead :drama: will he get a 12th week  :nocheer: Update incoming by a co-mod I think it's incredibly likely he will. Bryan Adams called, he wants to keep his record. -_-

June 23, 201610 yr Wonderful to see Take That still showing a top 40 position. Rick Astley should re4ach 21,000 sales which is highly impressive for a week 2 tally. Will Mumford and Sons remain on the chart officially on Friday?? I would be delighted if Laura Mvula can hold a top 20 position, initially i had thought she would reach top 10 status, top 20 will have to do for now on this occasion.
June 23, 201610 yr Is it pretty a given he will pass Bryan Adams now? Still needs another 6 weeks after this to do it mind. He'll get around 55k this week. Edited June 23, 201610 yr by Sharpshooter
June 23, 201610 yr It is far from a given at this stage, sales are low and any new release could pop up and snatch the #1!
June 24, 201610 yr Once again Adele's team showing others how it's done - She's achieved almost 3 million 'actual' sales, had 3 hit singles and now making it available to stream to coincide with a big performance. Essentially after 3 single releases and promo the majority of people wanting to pay for the album have done so and this will just give it a potentially big sales boost - I own the album but will stream it out of ease. Reckon it'll be back to No.1
June 24, 201610 yr Gotta love the streaming force of Drake. How it's even possible that other songs are so far behind it in streaming after all these weeks!? It clearly hits all the right demographics Edited June 24, 201610 yr by SKOB
June 24, 201610 yr Major Lazer will get the number one after Drake I believe. I hope they release soon.
