August 9, 20169 yr I wish there was a highlights show on BBC One, I remember in 2012 they used show a highlights programme every night which was about 1 hour long. I've barely seen anything from the Olympics so far.
August 9, 20169 yr Obscure Sangria BJSC entry Da Bop being used to soundbed the gymnastics :o woodkid too 💕 they rly getting that bjsc audience
August 9, 20169 yr I wish there was a highlights show on BBC One, I remember in 2012 they used show a highlights programme every night which was about 1 hour long. I've barely seen anything from the Olympics so far. I tend to just view the 7/8 minute round-up clips every morning on the BBC website. Not completely comprehensive of course but covers all the major talking points at least & cuts out the waffle. Anyway I'm not that fussed by the Olympics when the Premier League is back this weekend :D

Not completely comprehensive of course but covers all the major talking points at least & cuts out the waffle. Anyway I'm not that fussed by the Olympics when the Premier League is back this weekend :D The time zone difference really makes things awkward as well having live events at 4 AM. It's the track and field athletics that I look most forward to and that hasn't started yet so it's not so bad at the moment. I'm also looking forward to the Premier League starting this weekend!
August 10, 20169 yr Obscure Sangria BJSC entry Da Bop being used to soundbed the gymnastics :oLaurie killed that performance!
August 10, 20169 yr Author Two more slivers in the swimming for GB thanks to the mens 4 x 200m freestyle and Siobhan-Marie O'Connor in the women's 200m individual medley. I'm getting fed up of the fuss around Helen Skelton's outfit from Saturday night. It was 30 degrees out there.
August 10, 20169 yr GB getting their first ever diving gold!! That was a very tense final round to watch (especially with the Mexico controv) (taken me a few days to get properly hooked on the Olympics this year but I think I'm about there now ;o)
August 10, 20169 yr Those Mexicans still complaining at the end for a re-dive, yes they should have been given a re-dive at the time, but it was pretty pointless they wouldn't have been in the medals anyway. Well done to Team GB
August 10, 20169 yr Same here, that was brilliant to watch. Mears and Laugher did so well to put out a great final dive after that pressure from the USA. Topping up that 2012 total. *.*
August 10, 20169 yr See now this has been a good day for GB. We're really keeping up form from last time, I'm really pleased we're not falling away to lower levels now we've lost the hosting effect. Speaking of, overjoyed to see Japan in a solid 3rd on the medal table now, they've been all over this games and that can only mean they'll do even better next time. *.*
August 10, 20169 yr I am glad Max Whitlock one his Bronze medal so deserved he is a hemel lad too so Well Done Max :cheer:
August 10, 20169 yr Brilliant about the diving Gold there, I was so scared the US/China would pip us at the last minute there! I've always felt that (Tom Daley aside I guess) we've been underrepresented in diving as a nation so this is even better. Great for Max Whitlock in the Gymnastics too, though I did feel bad for the Ukrainian leading comfortably then missing out by a whisker at the last hurdle (literally in this case).
August 11, 20169 yr The final US dive was absolutely brilliant, definitely thought that would have been our chance of gold gone.
August 11, 20169 yr Katherine Grainger and Victoria Thornley take home Silver in the Double Sculls event :o Edited August 11, 20169 yr by HarryEzra
August 11, 20169 yr I'm overly concerned about countries here but the 50m freestyle heats is probably my favourite individual event outside of athletics in the Olympics because of the sheer variety. So many countries from all around the world getting a chance to shine, with the early heats crammed with Caribbean, Oceanian and African nations *.* And on a sporting level it's frantic and fast to watch too.
August 11, 20169 yr Author David Florence + Richard Hounslow who have claimed a silver medal for GB in the C2 canoe slalom. I hope Finland win a medal soon.
