Posted June 29, 20169 yr Scots voted to stay in the UK and now the UK as a whole has voted to leave the EU. What part of that can't she understand? Just because the Scots voted to stay in, it was a full national vote and she and the Scots should accept it and shut up. She's just stirring up trouble. She should put her toys back in her pram. There shouldn't be another Scottish referendum either, until at least 10 years after the last. June 29, 20169 yr Actually Leanne Wood has done exactly that. Despite the slight problem that a majority in Wales voted to leave.

June 29, 20169 yr Author You're all right there, are you, Jack? Yes fine thanks! :D Seriously though, you wanted to stay in the UK by a very clear majority and now she doesn't to accept the result of a UK wide vote! It's ridiculous. Edited June 29, 20169 yr by Common Sense
June 29, 20169 yr Conveniently forgetting that Scotland leaving the UK would have seen us having to reapply to the EU - a threat which was one of the main weapons the No campaign used. Still, as long as it's working out for you, Common Sense. We should know our place, shouldn't we?
June 29, 20169 yr Remaining in the EU being one of the main arguments against Scottish Independence, followed by a vote to leave the EU which Scotland didn't agree with at all, means this very much IS the time to bring another referendum up. I was adamant that Scotland should remain part of the UK back in 2014, but at this stage the economic argument carries a little less weight, whereas the country is being FORCED to accept something they don't want thanks to xenophobic English people, when they have an easy out? Of course Nicola will push for it, and it will happen this time. Just another thing too complex for leaver voters to understand.
June 29, 20169 yr Ah go f*** yourself. The UK we voted to stay in no longer exists. If there is to be a second referendum it is for the people of Scotland alone to decide. Dictation by English nationalists who are to blame for this mess we find ourselves in will only harden the resolve of yes supporters and convert no supporters. I realise that you're deeply jealous that out political system hasn't fallen apart at the seems over this

We tooold you it would lead to the end of the countryyyy. But your ilk were obsessed with 'taking Britain back' - but from what? And what country as UK eill now no longer exist? Well done.
June 29, 20169 yr Nicola Sturgeon is a joke, I'm surprised no-one's picked up on the amount of backtracking she's done in the last couple of days. And who'd had thought, Scotland and London agreeing on something.

Except a large part of the case for Scotland to Remain in 2014 was the difficulty that would come with having to reapply for EU membership and the losses that would come from potentially losing EU membership. So shut up yourself.

Now that has all changed! #ScotRef2 Also...the arrogance of you asking "What part of that can't she understand?" What makes you think she doesn't understand it? Edited June 29, 20169 yr by Colm
June 29, 20169 yr As sad as I'd be to see Scotland go, they don't deserve me made to stay, it is indeed democratically unfair and illogical to pull them our of the EU when as a country they voted strongly in favour to stay. They shouldn't be punished for the idiotic decisions of the English people. Now that is common sense.
June 29, 20169 yr This isn't a serious thread right? Why should the Scots accept this huge decision if they were against it, as someone from England I completely understand the need and want now for Scottish independence whereas in 2014 I really wanted the Scots to stay. Apart from anything, Sturgeon is one of the only politicians in the country at the moment actually talking sense!
June 29, 20169 yr why wait 10 years for another referendum anyway? Change is happening NOW so the Scots should be allowed to have another say.

Scotland voted by a far larger majority to stay in the EU than the vote to stay part of the UK. Which part of that is difficult to understand? Nicola Sturgeon's job is to look after the interests of Scotland. She believes that staying in the EU is best for Scotland, and the majority of the voters agree.
June 29, 20169 yr Nicola Sturgeon is a joke, I'm surprised no-one's picked up on the amount of backtracking she's done in the last couple of days. And who'd had thought, Scotland and London agreeing on something. Where the hell do you get your news? Even the violently anti-SNP elements of the Scottish press are fully backing her. She is currently in Brussells meeting with important EU presidents and diplomats. She's doing exactly what she said she would. She conveined an emergency meeting on Friday and Saturday of the Scot gov as promised while the uk gov hid. She then went to parliament and got a mandate yesterday. Another tick. While acting like the perfect stateswoman her government is still getting the job done. Yesterday they unveils new education reforms. The only effective government the uk has right now is hers.

June 29, 20169 yr There should be a second Scottish referendum, but it would be in the interests of the rest of the UK if they want to keep the union with Scotland for Scotland to be as a devolved country an EU Member as a counter argument.
