To help me out with JCM20's excellent poll about what the best song is from both a Boy Band and Girl Group, I had to sit down and brainstorm what groups there have been over the years. Most of my knowledge comes from the 90's onward, but I'd welcome suggestions of other groups I've mistaken to add!

Ok I guess I've got a bit carried away with this catalogue of boy bands and girl groups.

Perhaps I need some rules to narrow down the results;

For example what constitutes a boy band or girl group?

How many members should be in the group as a minimum/maximum?

How many chartworthy songs should they have had in the UK as a minimum?

What music genres should the list be limited to?

Thoughts anyone? :unsure:
