Runthrough of this week's dance songs on the itunes chart

Nice to see Danza Kuduro back at number 102. Great memories of holidays to Portugal for that one and of course it was huge in Portugal a few years ago. :)

The Bob Marley remix is actually not too bad for a tropical house song as it is more lively than the usual songs in the genre, but I wish they left the horrible pan flute bit out.

The new Kungs I am pleasantly surprised by. Good nu-disco tune. This one is MUCH better than This Girl.

John Gibbons Would I Lie To You is the best though - throwback to the glorious days of 80s remixes (I know it is an early 90s song originally though).

Bon Iver are back!

189 Bon Iver 22 (OVER S∞∞N) [bob Moose Extended Cab Version]

Example at #140 - Such a tune :music: Would love this to be a hit

Pleasing to see You Don't Know Love climb back up with the 59p discount and promo starting. Olly's releasing an acoustic and remixes bundle next Friday which will boost sales as well - especially one of them has an explicit version of the song!
That is exactly my point though. By cutting prices of certain singles and albums to ridiculously low levels, people now see 99p as too much so the industry has completely shot itself in the foot. It's all about short term gains and no consideration for the long term.

But I never would have bought them at full price (As is the case with many others it seems), I would have happily carried on streaming.

The days of 99p downloads are over and with streaming accelerating they need to react or accept the download market will die a painful death, 59p probably is to low but being able to stream music for free essentially gives a song a 0p value anyway.

134 Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder On The Dancefloor.

59p? I tried searching her name to see where the new single is (to no avail).

It is indeed 59p

Come With Us is at 1052

 57 Imany - Don't Be So Shy :music:

So hope that this is going to finally take off, it's too good to flop.

I hope so!

I've done my part this week in purchasing the single.

I'm not getting my hopes up over Imany after doing so for about the past 5 times it's entered the iTunes top 100

47. offaiah - Trouble

54. Imany - Don't Be So Shy

Three great early/mid 2000s-style uplifting lively dance tunes just outside the itunes top 40. Great compared to the whining sound effects of DJ Snake/Chainsmokers/Garrix's new stuff in the itunes chart or the dullness of Kungs/Cookin, Tieks or Major Lazer/Beiber and I hope they do well.

That John Gibbons song seems to have come from nowhere by the way but is already holding up well ...

And streaming seems non existent! Not sure why it's not taken off :nocheer:

Does anyone know what prompted the boost for Rag'n'Bone Man? Great song - sounds like it ought to be a monster hit, but whether it will or not...

Slightly-cheesy-dance-version-of-a-retro-song revival back after 11 years. :)
