I really don't get why Selasi wasn't in danger. He was terrible in the technical and the showstopper. I don't remember his signature too. Watch him sail through to the top 3.

 

If Paul and Mary also go, we will be left with none of the original team. I fully expect the show to be renamed Sugabakes Off.

Not that it makes a difference as it is basically an entirely different format & show but the Créme de la Créme is rumoured to be staying on the BBC. I guess if they do continue to show it, they'll drop the Bake Off from the title.

I think both decisions were right again. I was worried for Andrew in the technical challenge with his schoolboy error. Thankfully, it soon became apparent that there were a couple other Bakewell tarts that were a good deal worse than his. They really should have appointed me as a guest judge for that round.

Val very nearly got me crying!!! Second time now after Nadiya winning last year.

Candice was definitely the star baker this week. Val had a bad day with her filo.

 

I think Rav and Tom are skating on thin ice, which probably are the next two to go, after that Salsei and Andrew, which leaves Jane, Candice and Benjamina as the final 3.

They really should have appointed me as a guest judge for that round.

Rav and Tom have indeed had some lucky escapes, but that's irrelevant in future weeks. Rav's biggest problem is the technical challenge. If he continues to do badly in that every week, he probably will go soon. OTOH, if he starts to do better in that, he should survive for a few more weeks yet.

Salsei should really be in danger, I feel he is getting off very lightly

I reckon Andrew is most likely to be the winner at this point in time! He's very consistent at least in comparison to the others and precise! Think it'll be two of Selasi/Candice/Jane in the final with him.

I can't stand Andrew either. I think burbe is right with the top 3 and I can easily see him winning, although I'll be rooting for Benjamina!

Val </3 Will definitely not be the same without her and her musings, even if it was probably the right decision.

 

Andrew, Candice & Benjamina are the only ones I really like left, definitely could be the final 3 though I expect Jane will be there (though I REALLY hope not, my least favourite, cannot warm to her at all :/). Rav and Selasi are just 'there' and nothing else and I do like Tom, but jeez it's like he's purposefully choosing the least appealing recipes possible.

 

(Also, was I alone in seeing SO MUCH passive aggressiveness between Jane & Candice when they congratulated each other in the showstopper? :kink:)

In more heartbreaking but expected news, Mary Berry has also left Bake Off. She states that she wishes to stay with the BBC out of loyalty. I can see Paul staying tbh.
