August 29, 20168 yr I was back for a couple days and I liked thia it was a lot of dun even if it ks trying to manipulate viewers with cheesy sob stories etc and he asks different questions to arrive to the sob story of certain people but ok. Last few years it has been DIRGE but now it's ok, esp to laugh at the plastic faces of Nocole and Sharon  Advanced Driving LOLOLOL!!!
August 30, 20168 yr I don't like the joke auditions, I don't think it's fair to put people (who actually think they can sing) on TV just to be laughed at

August 30, 20168 yr They know what they're letting themselves in for when they audition, it's series 13 now after all...
August 30, 20168 yr Loved the opening episodes this weekend but the format is incredibly tired now, and judging by the declining viewing figures, it's definitely time to lay the X-Factor to rest (imho).
August 30, 20168 yr They know what they're letting themselves in for when they audition, it's series 13 now after all... Exactly  I'm sure a lot of them go on for a laugh or just to take the piss and get their 5 minutes on screen and they know exactly what they're doing.
August 30, 20168 yr In my opinion, I think they would be better off cutting the auditions and the first stage of bootcamp entirely, and just introduce the acts at the 6 chair challenge stage. But then again, maybe that's because I can't be bothered with the joke auditions and Simon stopping an act 5 seconds into their song before making them sing one he likes.
August 30, 20168 yr Generally agree. I also think the whole concept of the six chair challenge is cruel. "We're going to put you through and then we're going to take it away from you while the crowd bays for you to be sent off". The live shows are the best bit anyway - seeing them when they've all had their makeovers!
August 30, 20168 yr ^ I disagree with this, once again, people know what they're letting themselves in for. They know that once they're in the seat, it's not final and they aren't through just yet. The live shows are my favourite part but I've spoken to many people over the years and they've said the auditions is their fave part, because it's the most entertaining. Sure, there are tons of clichés, but we know this by now and have done for years yet we're still watching. X Factor's past its peak but that's been the case for a while and its viewing figures are fine considering how many different ways of consuming TV shows there are now. Overnight ratings mean very little beyond media headlines.

The live shows are the best bit anyway - seeing them when they've all had their makeovers! I actually like the concept of the six chair challenge, but I see that it can upset the contestants. I think the best way to do it would be for the Judges to do a 'six-chair challenge' by themselves without the contestants knowing, but I dont know how they would do that. It is always interesting to see how the contestants look in the live shows though. Does anyone know where they're revealing the results of the Judges' houses this year?
August 30, 20168 yr Does anyone know where they're revealing the results of the Judges' houses this year? I'm gonna assume it's on location, Simon slated the live judges' houses reveal last year so I think it's safe to assume it won't be back
August 30, 20168 yr I'm gonna assume it's on location, Simon slated the live judges' houses reveal last year so I think it's safe to assume it won't be back  I liked the live reveal, it meant that they couldn't only play full auditions of the people who reached the final as they did in previous years. It also meant that they could change their minds (like Simon did sending through that Max guy when we had only seen him in the six chair challenge  ) What I didn't like though was when the contestants had to 'beg' for a place in the Final. You can't talk your way out of being a weak(er) singer.
August 30, 20168 yr Again, agree with Joseph here, they know what they're doing. It's not a brand new format and when people sign up to the show they know what they are doing  They know they have a fight ahead of them, I feel like people would complain if they kept the old format because "it was getting boring".
August 30, 20168 yr New idea: Let's get them all to audition in front of a box so we don't have to hear Simon forcing them to talk about a dead relative
September 3, 20168 yr I thought Paul would be insanely good  The bloke that did Applause has slain me so hard.
