The saxophone (or what sounds like one) in the song is really nice (in the drop). Don't really care for the vocal much at the minute.

I found this pretty instant but sounding like a million other songs with all build up and no chorus, except this time there's a saxophone on the drop instead of some distorted vocals.

That's much better, though. The distorted vocals I find really annoying.

its the best Rihanna single Rihanna has never released :D
I unashamedly love this. I know it's kind of a mess but I just love it. So catchy.
This is an absolute jam though, more instant than Lush Life. The lead into the chorus and the middle 8 are huge, this isn't what I was expecting from her and it was a lot to take in on listen 1 but an interesting song for sure and falls just on the right side of being hot, and not just a mess.

She's such a POP STAR, really, there's very few people these days who can do songs like 'Ain't My Fault' and then master a live perf of a classic like that above. She's amazing.

Surely not, when these two songs exist? :o

But yeah, this is such a Rih-copy! It's very good though. At least these vocals are better than the ones she provided on 'Girls Like'!

OMFG at that 'Killing Me Softly' performance though.

this is awesome. I can vaguely see the Rih comparisons in terms of the vocal style and pacing, but it still doesn't seem like something she'd release - Zara's team are clearly very good at putting the teenage swagger into her songs and tho this has a harsher mood than Lush Life, it's still so vibrant. would be surprised and disappointed if this doesn't smash!
This is really growing on me - such an awesome pop song and I love the backing. Hopefully this'll be the hit it really deserves to be, I'd rank this as my second favourite Zara track after Never Forget You right now.

Am I the only one that's noticing some really small pitch shifts in the backing in the pre-chorus (please say it's not just me)? It might be deliberate but it's really been bugging me a bit

I am really loving this right now though *.*

The pre-chorus and chorus very much remind of Dark Horse. Here for it
I was having a discussion with one of my friends about this, he said he doesn't like it on the basis that it's lyrically about stealing someone else's man but I can't seen to find any hint of it in the lyrics?

Some of the verses remind me of the Beyonce song where she's like "I woke up like dis".

I'm intrigued by the song but can't work out whether I properly like it or find it messy and annoying.

This might help!

Released on the 2nd September 2016, “Ain’t My Fault” is the third official single from Larsson’s international debut album and is about how someone can make you behave, when you’re so in love with them.

In an interview with BBC Radio 1, they stated that the song was written in a few spare hours with MNEK and was never meant to be a single. They continued:

The first version of the song was written about stealing another girl’s boyfriend but when her record label and management fell in love with the track, Zara quickly rushed back into the studio to change all that.

In the same interview, Zara explained saying: I can’t be Becky With The Good Hair, it doesn’t make sense, I would never be proud of stealing a girl’s man and sing about it, it would be very not me. So we have changed the lyrics and now I can proudly sing it without hurting anyone’s feelings. When we wrote it we just wrote it for fun and people loved it, but then I was like whoa whoa whoa I can’t sing this.
