I absolutely adore it, and I think I'm one of the few that actually prefers the verses. I just hope the 'Ugly Heart' comparisons won't overshadow the song itself (as it already seems to have in the iTunes thread).

Totally agree with you that the verses are stronger than the chorus but seems we're in the minority there :lol: I love how sassy the lyrics/delivery are and it just seems to flow better imo. I had exactly the same opinion on Black Magic though too although of course the chorus is still bangin'. This has been pretty instant for me and I'm loving it loads already, glad it has entered so high on iTunes so quickly, a top 10 debut in the official charts would be amazing if they could pull that off. I must say that Black Magic is still a stronger lead single for me though and ofc LMLY remains their career peak :wub:

The promo they have already got and will get from the performances to come are on another level. Now the song is officially out its already massively taking off. Difficult to really know what to expect in terms of chart placing this week but next week they've surely got to be a contender for Number 1.

 

As for my previous comment about Simon, yes he's been massively praising them this week but let's not pretend he's been like that for the last five years

Listened almost 10 times now and I still think it's weak as hell and very heard it all before. 'Ugly Heart' was fun for what it was, we don't need another version. I feel like the chorus will get annoying quickly too. I hope that I'm wrong and it does grow on me because for now it's certainly one of their weakest singles ever:

Don't see the top 2 being troubled by SOTME but it could easily end up in third place with a bit more time. The Get Weird era was really fantastic in terms of singles and even the stuff that could have been singles but weren't picked. I do hope Glory Days is on a similar level of quality, a good start anyway! :heart:

I quite like it! I was surprised at how similar the chorus was to 'Ugly Heart', but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Not completely wowing me but I didn't get that with 'Black Magic' yet I still maintained my enjoyment of that. My only criticism is that the line "I hope she gettin’ better sex / hope she ain't fakin’ it like I did" makes me quite uncomfortable. There's a few complete no-go insults and that's one of them for me.

Love the song! Just seen its 98% on kworb so should be #1 any minute on iTunes.
