Panelists just announced as CeCe Sammy (Vocal & Performance coach), Bruno from Strictly Come Dancing and Sophie Ellis Bextor!

Bruno from Strictly  what on earth does he know about vocals, its a song contest not a dancing contest

A naff guitar boy-band. I'd rather have nothing than this. I'm only bothered because I'm actually going. Can they roll back in Loreen and counteract them?

Someone probably dropped out! Or, maybe he's there to vote on the "visual" aspect, which would seem redundant given the visuals are usually determined in May. CeCe Sammy has been on a UK jury once before I believe.

CeCe Sammy only ranked Jamala 11th last year so a bit (0 ) about her.

Although she did put Frans 24th so I suppose it's not all bad!

Cyprus and Georgia in top two places. Bulgaria only in 10th. Needs a bit of a slap I think...

Then she has good taste because I wouldn't but Jamala in my top 10 either!

Jamala would have only scraped my top ten, but Georgia doing so well for her is unforgivable.

But, as I mentioned last year, I'm assuming the whole UK jury watched the performances together and were swayed by each other's opinions (I really wish each jury member would watch in isolation) as otherwise I just can't fathom how on earth they all collectivelty flocked towards Georgia.

So a flop ESC winner that has failed to carve out a successful career for herself following her win or score a hit in her home country since 2014 is getting us all excited :nocheer: Winners trying to reclaim their ESC crown rarely works unless your name is Johnny Logan.
She's a proven good performer and vocalist and I am a fan of her music so of course i'd be excited! Better than some no mark randomer who'll come 25th. Of course, it still has to be a good song.
I am 98% sure this rumor won't even come to much anyway. That said I wouldn't turn my nose up if Emmelie is one of the six artists announced on Monday for exactly the reasons Liam mentioned. Frankly, in the year of Brexit, we could do with the PR of having someone not of UK birth singing our song.
Yeah she could have just written the song tbf and she wants to follow along what happens to it on twitter maybe

Hi everyone - first time poster here. Great forum btw :)

Hopefully on Monday we'll have at least one good song. Sadly I'll be working and miss the radio 2 show but will catch it as soon as I can afterwards.

Are we hopeful?

I think it's far more likely she's the songwriter and not the performer.

Besides, if she is performing I wouldn't put it past the UK public to be stupid enough as to send some pretty boy who can't sing through instead.

Compared to all those other successful winners of the last few years that have carved out massive careers!

I think Emmelie will just be a songwriter after all, she's flown to Germany now which she wouldn't be doing if she was preparing for a week of press and "promo". While she was here she probably recorded a video for the VT before her song where she talks about the meaning of the song like a few of the VTs last year did where the artist didn't write their own song - the Swedish lady behind "A Better Man" springs to mind.
