I'd prefer we avoid these sorts of spinoffs as I find genre'd spinoffs a bit limiting compared to themed (instrumentals, Worldvision, foreign language, 90's, soundtracks, Christmas etc.) spinoffs to be honest. The latter doesn't inherently restrict you based on the music you like. I guess we did have the 90s dance spinoff, which was both genre'd and themed.

I don't mind genred spin offs, it encourages you to listen to songs you maybe wouldn't have otherwise and if it's a type of music you really don't want to listen to then you don't need to take part :lol: there was a fair bit of demand for this contest though iirc, it would be different if there was only maybe a couple of people that were interested I guess.

I like genre spin offs, if I really don't like the genre I just don't enter. I like that there is something for everyone. I tbink this in particular is a great spin off because it's something that doesn't get entered much because people moan every time there is one entered in the main contest. People don't have to enter every spin off, I think it's good that we have different ones to intice different crowds, and then the ones that can have all sorts of genres. I know I'm biased to country I just think it's good to be able to showcase good country for a change. I mean we've had like 2 or 3 dance spin offs so it's nice to have the other side of the coin, I think the spin offs have a good balance.

 

And yeah sorry Pete it did - I'll update the list now just been quite busy the latter half of this week! Also sorting out changes and forwarding vetoes to the mods, well there's only one we're a bit on the fence on so far tbh.

You're never gonna please anyone with these more specific spin off's, neither are you forced to enter them :lol: having something new is good, rather than having the

same themes repeated all the time.

Anyone who needs to change has been informed, but there's still one we're a bit unsure on :lol: I don't want to be too limiting but just having an acoustic guitar doesn't make something country, so we're seeing what the mods think too. One potential veto, again trying not to be limited or too harsh and the mods get the final say but all 3 of us had concerns. I will of course keep you updated when I can!

Confirmed. I'm a bit late to the party so assuming my usual country faves have all been taken so I've gone with a gorgeous ballad by an unknown artist that I've been loving for a couple of years.

Just one veto from the first batch, two countries have been asked to change and we're unsure on another :lol:

I was unsure whether I'd do this, but I realised I have a song I've known for a good few years that could fit into this spin-off, it's more folk than country so fair enough if it's not allowed, but I have been meaning to showcase this to a wider audience on Buzzjack for a while now. It's so obscure my own upload of it to soundcloud is the only audio link to the studio version on the internet!

Last entry got vetoed, knew it wouldn't be considered country! Worth a shot, though. Hope my new song is alright and no one else has confirmed it (or the artist)!

Well, I've narrowed down my choices and still have 10 songs I want to send. :nocheer: I'm just glad I found some that people will definitely like, was worried about having 100 songs that would all end up in last place :P

Thinking about changing to another song (same artist), might work a little better.
