Thank you cqmerqn for that informative reply, really appreciate it. I am delighted they did well on streaming especially Mariah Carey. I am hoping Mariah can outsell the Pogue's again this year like she did last year to close the sales gap further. I love both songs but would prefer Mariah to be ahead on sales as its my ultimate Christmas song.

Well on Christmas Day, Mariah (#1) had 570K compared to The Pogues' (#3) 490K, so I'd say that Mariah will easily outsell them this year. :D

Because Christmas Day is on a Sunday this year I expect the streaming benefit will be diluted a little due to the maximum streams being concentrated at the very start of the week following the official Christmas chart which is Friday 23rd December this year (we saw drops because of this last year on the streaming chart, e.g. Mariah 4-10 the week after Christmas).

Mariah peaked at #1 on the streaming chart in 2013 in the week of/after Christmas because of a favourable day that Christmas fell on, that looks like being Christmas 2017.

Could we be looking at Mariah potentially getting #1 officially in a later year when streaming is pretty much completely dominant and sales have dwindled to really paltry levels?
shouldn't it be Clean Sean-Marie? or Clean Anne-Paul?

maybe we should have a vote on what to call them.

Clean Anne-Maul? Don't get it.

If people only bought 'Driving Home For Christmas' by Chris Rea because it had the word "Christmas" in the title, wouldn't they be buying 'Joys Of Christmas' was well?

On Xmas Day last year the top 100 was cluttered with Xmas tracks prob nearly 70/100 tracks!

Buble IBTLALC does particularly well and the only shock one.

And The Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping. Propa tune that is.

 82. Blu Cantrell featuring Sean Paul - Breathe (feat. Sean Paul, Sean Paul & Sean Paul) [Rap Version]

59p effect boosting this iconic credit back into the top 100 *.* almost makes up for the OCC not crediting him on Cheap Thrills, Hair or Rockabye

Id love to see Mariah's All i want for Christmas go number 1, but i wont get my hopes up. Songs like this and Fairytale of New York are songs i think most people just assume went to number 1 (me included if i wasnt a chart freak!!!). Great they are million seller though.

CB at 0.96 now, so close

57 Little Big Town - Better Man

this has been out for a while but charting now as it was revealed it was written by Taylor and of course everybody's buying cos of the lyrics :D

Think Breathe is one of my favourite songs. Been out 13 years and doesn't get old!
Clean Bandit not #1 yet? I really thought they would've been by now... they're still gonna get there, but I imagibed it to have happened long before now. Didnt they close the gap considerably in a short space of time?

I love love love this song after so many years still! The version without Sean Paul and the version with 4x Sean Paul too

2 Clean Bandit - Rockabye (feat. Sean Paul & Anne-Marie)

Really need to star narrowing the gap on Spotify.
