Posted October 29, 20168 yr Thermo's hot hits • chart #322 • 28/10/16 the hottest songs of the week Crownnote • Last.fm • Chart Archive • Chart Runs Archive +++++++++ Top 40 Chart Commentary It's another static top 2 this week as for the sixth week in a row the first two positions of the chart are taken up by Calvin Harris and Offaiah. This week Calvin Harris spends his third week at #1, and his second consecutive week, with 'My Way'. It now becomes his only song in the chart as after 26 weeks, 'This Is What You Came For' leaves the top 40, down to #42 this week. Whether 'My Way' can match the six weeks that 'This' managed is yet to be seen, but for now it doesn't look likely to be kicked off #1. If any one artist has dominated the top of the charts this year, it would be Kungs who spent 12 weeks at #1 all with one song - however Calvin is slowly catching up as he now spends his ninth week at #1 across two different songs. Offaiah's 'Trouble' spends its eighth consecutive week in the top 2 remaining at #2. Møme climbs to #3 with 'Aloha' on its 13th week in the extended chart, perhaps it could make it all the way to #1? Last week's #3 'Yebisah' slips two places to complete the top 5. Songs taking their time to peak is something which is becoming more of a regular occurrence now in this chart. Though many chart watchers here would have believed 'Crank It (Woah!)' had already peaked, as it climbed to #11 in its second week and hasn't looked back since, but it gets a massive boost this week climbing 21 places to this week's #4 on its 12th week in the chart (including two weeks where it had dropped out of the top 40). Also entering the top 10 this week are Frenship whose 'Capsize' climbs two places to #10. Since jumping into the top 20 it has been climbing very slowly, and if it keeps up its rate of climbing perhaps it could be a #1 challenger in a month's time. I doubt it'll get to that however. The Weeknd re-peaks with 'Starboy' up two places to #8, a new career peak for The Weeknd also. We have seven entries in the top 40 this week, UK chart could never. The highest of these is at #15 for a big collaboration of chillstep artists (with the song 'Rush Over Me'): Seven Lions, Illenium and Said The Sky with vocalist Hailene. It is the third hit for Illenium following 'Spirals' (#22) and 'Fortress' (#18) and the first hit for all other artists involved. Drake never stops picking up hits it seems. Midweek he dropped two new songs without warning and the first of these, 'Fake Love', makes a quick impact on the chart debuting at #16. It becomes his 22nd single to impact the top 50 (with 'Controlla' this week becoming his 23rd as it climbs to #47) and his 14th top 20 hit, following 'One Dance' which reached #12. His last song to make the top 10 was 'Work' with Rihanna earlier this year (#2) and as a solo artist, 'Hotline Bling' (#9). AlunaGeorge have had an excellent era, and pick up their fourth hit from it with 'Not Above Love' which enters at #22. It follows 'I'm In Control' (#17), 'I Remember' (#9) and 'Mean What I Mean' (#21). Clean Bandit's second era got off to an okay start although 'Tears' could only peak at #43. Their new song 'Rockabye' which features Sean Paul and Anne-Marie instantly outdoes that, entering at #26. It is their eighth top 40 hit. Nimmo's singles 'Dilute This' and 'My Only Friend' made only a small impact on the extended chart, peaking at #56 and #82 respectively. Their third single 'Dancing Makes Us Brave' breaks them into the upper reaches of the chart already entering at #27 this week. SeeB had two of the biggest hits of the year with 'I Took A Pill Ibiza' (#6) and 'Breathe' (#2) and now get another hit to their collection with 'What Do You Love', which enters at #34 this week but will most likely climb higher in the weeks to come. Bruno Mars has had a fair bit of history in this chart, starting with the first ever BuzzJack era chart where 'Just The Way You Are' and 'Billionaire' featured. More recently his single 'Uptown Funk' reached #2. He now returns with '24K Magic' which climbs into the top 40 at #39. It becomes his eighth top 40 hit. +++++++++ Top 40 01 [01] Calvin Harris ~ My Way [2-1-2-2-1-1-] • 6 02 [02] Offaiah ~ Trouble [61-24-6-4-3-3-3-1-1-1-2-1-1-2-2-] • 15 03 [04] Møme ~ Aloha [feat. October 30, 20168 yr Hey there Dan :hi: Calvin absolutely slaying here ;o I'm still not keen on the song, but I see people are raving about the video so I'll have to check that out at some point. 'Rockabye' is a brilliant new entry here  Clean Bandit almost always seem to deliver the goods *.* Hopefully it can climb into the top 5 officially. 'Dancing Makes Us Brave' is a great climber into your top 40! Not surprised that someone tried it for BJSC this month as it sounds quite wide-appealing. They seem promising from this and 'Dilute This'! Fab stuff ^_^
October 31, 20168 yr Author Hi Danny Lovin' to see this Crank It big jump. I have a feeling that they will be UK top 40 next Friday. Rockabye > Fake Love in my opinion. I'm not Drake's fan. November is almost saying Hello but you have only 11 number ones this year. :o Good chart :PI still can't see it happening myself, they'd have to be very lucky to make it in. Didn't think you were a fan of Drake's haha, but I love a lot of his music :P Ten actually! One of them was a hangover from last year. Definitely set to be the year with the least #1 singles in this chart (until next year lol), beating last year's record of just 14 #1 singles. It seems all my #1 singles now spend at least 5 weeks at #1 (ever since April they have) and I can't see anything stopping Calvin from reaching 5 weeks with 'My Way' either. thanks Jason! Hey Dan, 4 25 12 Kideko and George Kwali ~ Crank It (Woah!) (feat. They may well be the next big dance band in the UK. thanks Sonia! :P Hey there Dan :hi: Calvin absolutely slaying here ;o I'm still not keen on the song, but I see people are raving about the video so I'll have to check that out at some point. 'Rockabye' could well be a top 3 contender soon, hopefully streams don't let it down too much. Yeah they're definitely too cheap for BJSC now, but I'm glad they seem to be gaining popularity. thanks Jade!

November 2, 20168 yr Alright Dan, Great plug session with you earlier on! :) Really pleased to see Kideko in the Top 5, that's a very good achievement. I wish it was on Now 95 though. :( New peaks for FRENSHIP and The Weeknd then, and I see Röyksopp refuses to leave the Top 10 as is also the case with my chart too. Not feeling the new Drake single, but definitely am for Clean Bandit this week, I think that's a certain #1 for me eventually. Last mention for Seeb which was played on plug.dj earlier on, what a choon! :music: If you haven't already done so, please be sure to check out my latest chart HERE. I'd love to hear your views! :) Cool personal chart this week! B-)

Röyksopp could spend a lot longer in the top 10 here too, should climb this week actually! The Celan Bandit song could easily make my top 10 soon, it'll be in for a climb this week anyway. Love the SeeB song too :music: thanks awardinary!

Idk which version is better, I like them equally and they give off a different air from each other.'Starboy' is amazing, so it deserves to be his highest peaking song in my chart  ('The Hills' peaked at #10) The original 'Say It' was a former top 10 hit for me, which I don't think the Clean Bandit remix will achieve, so I'd have to say the original's better. I love what CB have done to the song though. thanks Cody! Hi Dan Great climb for Crank It :music: Nice to see Rockabye enter as well! :cheer: Great climb for Shelter also! Great chart :DCrank It could remain top 10 for a few more weeks too, it's still a choon :music: Rockabye and Shelter are big tunes too, both could continue to climb. thanks Pete!
