November 23, 20169 yr God, where is Sweet Lies by Wilkinson?! God says it's well outside the top 100 as of yesterday's top 200 mids, likely in a similar position today.
November 23, 20169 yr I would not be surprised if Michael Ball & Alfie Boe will be #1 next week. Next week might be too soon but they have a TV special lined up for Friday 9th December on ITV1, looking strong for that week & the week after.
November 23, 20169 yr Just a reminder guys that we only have the top 40 and there is no other sales information other than what's been posted!
November 23, 20169 yr Next week might be too soon but they have a TV special lined up for Friday 9th December on ITV1, looking strong for that week & the week after. Well they have a real chance of Xmas no1 then IMO!
November 23, 20169 yr Michael Ball and Alfie Boe look to be the Elvis of last year with a surprise huge selling album. They most certainly are in with a shout of number 1 at some point in the coming weeks.
November 23, 20169 yr God says it's well outside the top 100 as of yesterday's top 200 mids, likely in a similar position today. Cheers God, you're a star! :D
November 23, 20169 yr Will Little Mix have the best first week sales for a girl band album since SpiceWorld? Or is there a really obvious one I am missing ? Girls aloud got 85,670 first week for "out of control" in 2008 and 84,354 in 2006 for "The sound of girls aloud". So approx another 5,000 by Friday?. Edited November 23, 20169 yr by Olympus
November 23, 20169 yr SevenSeize, What about the Bruno prediction then? Still think he will get the #2 - apparently you are never wrong! I know you were joking but, actually, Bruno could quite possibly be #2! As of today, Metallica is on track for 58.3k and Bruno is on track for 57.9k, but Metallica are likely to sell at a lesser rate before Friday whereas Bruno could have some streams needed to be added on.
November 24, 20169 yr Will Little Mix have the best first week sales for a girl band album since SpiceWorld? Or is there a really obvious one I am missing ? Destiny's Child's Survivor debuted with 118k, so possibly the highest since that?
November 24, 20169 yr Author Bruno had an unusually high boost in sales yesterday, especially for a Tuesday when he's not even here to do promo. It makes me think some missing sales were added from earlier in the week. Tour bundle or official store pre ordered copies possibly?
November 24, 20169 yr This is what I have found to be the highest debut sales for an album by a girl group: 191,856 | Spice Girls - Spiceworld (#1, 1997) 155,000 | Spice Girls - Spice (#1, 1996) * 117,967 | Destiny's Child - Survivor (#1, 2001) 85,717 | Girls Aloud - What Will the Neighbours Say? (#6, 2004) 85,670 | Girls Aloud - Out of Control (#1, 2008) 84,354 | Girls Aloud - The Sound of Girls Aloud: The Greatest Hits (#1, 2006) 84,000 | All Saints - Saints & Sinners (#1, 2000) 81,962 | Girls Aloud - Chemistry (#11, 2005) 81,231 | Little Mix - Glory Days (#1, 2016) 80,000 | Atomic Kitten - Feels So Good (#1, 2002) 75,787 | Spice Girls - Greatest Hits (#2, 2007) 73,390 | Spice Girls - Forever (#2, 2000) 67,996 | Destiny's Child - Destiny Fulfilled (#5, 2004) 65,781 | Sugababes - Taller in More Ways (#1, 2005) 64,772 | Sugababes - Angels With Dirty Faces (#2, 2002) 63,118 | Sugababes - Three (#3, 2003) 60,053 | Little Mix - Get Weird (#2, 2015) * In regards to Spice, Music Week revealed (on the week their Greatest Hits debuted) that it debuted with 114,305, meaning its sales had since been downgraded). I've put Glory Days in there for comparison, although it will have no trouble becoming fourth.
November 24, 20169 yr 81k for a #11 debut back in 2005 is insane! Looks like the charts have switched since then and it's the albums chart that is struggling in comparison to the singles chart back in 2005!
November 24, 20169 yr If she was inside the top 40 her position would have been posted. I figured as much . Thanks for responding

Fair play to him - does anyone know when the Carpool Karaoke (from Bruno) will be available as well?
November 24, 20169 yr Has this album underperformed for Metallica? Aren't they bigger album sellers than this? Or am I imagining it? (Even taking into consideration the decline in sales)

November 24, 20169 yr I think we all expected more from Metallica based on their last one selling 80K in 3 days but looking at the sales of their other old albums, those 80K might be the exception rather than the rule, so I think we were all expecting too much
November 24, 20169 yr Author 81,962 | Girls Aloud - Chemistry (#11, 2005) 65,781 | Sugababes - Taller in More Ways (#1, 2005) These chart positions in the same year... With that sales difference. Girls Aloud really did have a few unlucky moments and almosts in their chart history. At least they managed Glory a few times, though, something the Saturdays never managed :(
November 24, 20169 yr Wonder whether some Black Friday deals will significantly influence the positioning in the Album chart next week. For this week just noticed "Wild World" by Bastille and "Illuminate" by Shawn Mendes (regular editions) down to £4.99 on Amazon. Looks like some other big selling Albums reduced as well (eg new Elvis compilation £6.99 etc).
