83. Dua Lipa - Hotter Than Hell

Total points: 182

Chart run: 3-3-6-6-20-34-33 {7 weeks}

She had her big breakthrough year in 2016 & her first UK top 40 single cracked the top 3 here. Other songs 'Be The One' & 'Blow Your Mind' both also made the Chart but didn't cause quite as much of a dent as this did.

82. Filatov & Karas - Tell It To My Heart

Total points: 183

Chart run: 19-6-8-11-16-26-25-34 {8 weeks}

Russian producers Filatov & Karas covered Taylor Dayne's 80s classic & gave it a deep house spin. This is their only hit as lead act but a certain remix from them is a huge contender in this countdown for a top position.

81. Fifth Harmony (feat. Ty Dolla $ign) - Work From Home

Total points: 184

Chart run: 2-5-7-9-15-24 {6 weeks}

They got their huge UK breakthrough earlier this year with this track, also peaking at #2 here, behind Sigala's 'Say You Do'. They also graced the Chart with 'Write On Me' but that fell far short of the cut-off...

The Aelyn song is really lovely, it was great to see that win as proof that great trance songs can still be big contenders.

Hotter Than Hell is brilliant, I've been impressed with Dua's output this year. All three of her singles will appear in my EOY top 200 but none in the top 100.

Loving the TITMH cover, another really good effort from them. Hopefully their big remix appears in your top 5.

Work From Home was also my favourite of their tracks, it's great for what it is. It may well make my EOY top 100 also.

Absolutely re Aelyn, I didn't expect it to win that contest but was thrilled to see it do so.

Yeah Dua Lipa has been the best pop artist for me this year, actually quite anticipating her album (if it ever gets released).

Their remix is very, very high - I won't go any further :P

Tell It To My Heart is great, a little upset I didn't put it in my own chart

It's never too late! But yeah it is one of the best dance reworkings I've heard this year.

80. Consoul Trainin - Take Me To Infinity

Total points: 185

Chart run: 36-13-7-9-15-27-33-33-30-32-31 {11 weeks}

We go all the way to the Middle East for the next artist, Consoul Trainin, who hails from Dubai produced this wonderful slice of deep house. Containing many layers of instrumentals this managed an 11 week run in the Chart.

Work from Home and Hotter Than Hell will both feature highly in my countdown, both excellent :wub: I prefer Blow Your Mind (Mwah) for Dua though actually!

Ah they were by far my 2 faves from them this year. I got bored of Blow Your Mind pretty quick sadly!

My favourites so far have been

Sex - This is probably my favourite of the 'dance remix of an old song' category of the year.

Nothing Like This - Decent but I got bored of it quite quickly.

Don't Let Me Down - Easily the best thing The Chainsmokers have released this year for me. I can't decide if I prefer this or #SELFIE though they are very different. :)

Hotter Than Hell - This never fully clicked for me but it's nice to listen to.

Work From Home: This is a huge contender for my number one song of the year. I remember this being released on my birthday, it was quite a nice gift. :lol:

Enjoying the countdown :D

Hi Dobbo, sorry for missing the start! Didn't realise you were so far into it already.

I think Work From Home peaked at #2 in my charts, I did prefer All In My Head (Flex) which was still yet to come but I loved the style and swagger that came with their comeback. That's My Girl wasn't on the same level as the previous two singles for me but it was still very strong so I'm excited to see what else they have up their sleeve for next era.

Dua Lipa is one of those acts I can't decide if I really enjoy or am irritated by. Hotter than Hell is catchy and sounds really good when played loud but the way she says 'hell' especially just sounds ridiculous. Blow My Mind was fun for a little while too but again, the mwah parts were so irritating :lol: Last Dance remains fantastic though :wub:

Wasn't really very impressed with AlunaGeorge's album but I must say that the singles were all fantastic. I Remember is probably the one I go back to the least but I always enjoy it when I do. Shame nothing really did well charts wise from this era for them :(

Lovely countdown so far Dobbo, looking forward to see what is to come!

Both Hotter Than Hell and Work From Home are :wub: Good pop songs :wub:

Agreed yes! Really wanted the former to go top 10 officially.

Did enjoy Sex but preferred Let Me Hold You actually! It has been a very big year for dance reworkings hasn't it :kink:

Similar to me for Nothing Like This, not among the best on his album.

Ah good to see another #SELFIE fan! Did love that back then & still do now :music:

Will you be running an EOY countdown this year Lewis?

Not to worry, yeah I don't want it dragging on till Feb like last time :lol:

Ah fair enough I never really got into Flex myself, always felt like in WFH's shadow. TMG is decent but again, I didn't chart that either - they've got a good streak going atm tho!

Love Dua Lipa! Best pop act of the year IMO, haha her pronunciation on HTH was a bit bizarre but I quite liked it actually. Looking forward to her eventual album.

Never gave the full AlunaGeorge album a listen, just really got into I Remember. Surprised it performed as badly as it did :o

Hopefully some more tracks you'll be a fan of coming up Josh ^_^

79. Matt Simons - Catch & Release (Deepend Remix)

Total points: 187

Chart run: 3-2-5-12-21-20-37 {7 weeks}

Still on deep house next with this remix from Dutch duo Deepend. Their effort on Matt Simons' acoustic original did big things across the continent but sadly never affected the UK. At least it had some impact here peaking at #2 earlier in the year.

78. SOPHIE - Just Like We Never Said Goodbye

Total points: 190

Chart run: -18-14-10-5-18-16-25-35-39-40 {10 weeks}

This wacky dance track from Scottish DJ SOPHIE stretches far back into last year in terms of its chart run but managed a lengthy stint this side of the cut-off too, peaking in the top 5.

Hotter than Hell grew on me a lot in the end after not getting the big hype round. It unfortunately remains with a peak of #22 for me but whether it still shows up in my eoy we'll have to wait and see *.*

Looking forward to seeing Ja Kem Nis & K'vo Ne Chu show up :music:

Can't remember any songs your hugely into that I expect to see so color me interested ;o

77. Karen Harding - Open My Eyes (The Writers Block Remix)

Total points: 197

Chart run: 3-1-2-10-15-20-39 {7 weeks}

This remix became the final #1 of 2015 & despite its rather abrupt descent (this is possibly the closest to a non-#1 on the Chart ever) it still comfortably makes the year-end top 100. Karen Harding is one of only 4 female artists to have a #1 as lead artist, along with Ella Eyre, DARA & Nora En Pure.

I was similar with HTH, didn't really like it for a good few listens but just suddenly clicked in a big way one week!

Those 2 are certainly quite high up :kink: & I shall, hopefully you'll like a good number on this countdown!

76. TroyBoi - And Wot?

Total points: 198

Chart run: 18-6-6-11-13-26-26-29-37-40 {10 weeks}

This big tune from Troyboi managed a very respectable run earlier this year. A shame this never became a UK hit as it definitely had potential but it can settle for a top 10 peak in this Chart.
