It's not even a battle anymore ever since streaming came into effect, Mariah will win every year now.

Why is the streaming for The Pogues/Kirsty much less?

Claim Scott should have made his new song 59p instead of DOMO

Who is 'Claim Scott' :o

Mariah is higher up on the Christmas playlists.

I thought given their popularity, Mariah and The Pogues/Kirsty would be the first 2 of most of the playlists.

I think it'd be down to the flow of the xmas playlist. Pogues is one of thos songs which is better closing out a playlist when everyone is shit faced and have a "drunken sing along" to it. Where as AIWFCIY is great at getting people in the xmas party mood!
The low sales environment seems to really benefit the Christmas songs, Mariah is already top 10 combined and the Pogues aren't *that* far off... If they're boosted by streaming as much as last year I could honestly see both going top 10 officially over the coming weeks! :D

15 & 38. Mariah Carey ft The Strange Kid Dancing With Her In The Video- All I Want For Christmas Is You

18. Blackpool Sixth and Friends- A Christmas Miracle

23 & 49. The Pogues ft Kirsty MacColl- Fairytale of New York

28. Roy Wood & Wizzard- I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

32 & 88. Wham!- Last Christmas

35. Students- Message of Christmas

36. Shakin' Stevens ft The Weird Toy Elves- Merry Christmas Everyone

43. Band Aid- Do They Know It's Christmas?

56. Chris Rea- Driving Home for Christmas

65. Brenda Lee- Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

68. Michael Buble- It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

79. Elton John- Step Into Christmas

90. Paul McCartney- Wonderful Christmastime

97. Ariana Grande- Santa Tell Me

100. Michael Buble- Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)

Looks like we have a winner of the classic Xmas battle between Mariah and Pogues.

Mariah is being performed by Saara (2nd fave to win) on X Factor tomorrow! *.*

I am thrilled with this, love the song and

Saara is my favourite X Factor contestant this year.

18. Blackpool Sixth and Friends- A Christmas Miracle

35. Students- Message of Christmas

I can't see a 59p batch on iTunes at all (Not, looking at desktop, but iPhone/iPad which is where the majority of sales are made). Strange move to take the section away.
I hope Mariah manages to go top ten this year, I imagine she will. Though I do wonder who is still buying the song every year but as streaming is here to stay, Mariah's festive dominance will likely never end.
 76. Becky Hill // Warm

Didn't realise this was so high again - really like this; so hope it carries on climbing

Yes Becky :o

Is there anything known that's realistically going to threaten Clean Bandit between now and the end of the year? I don't think there are any *obvious* contenders - of course that doesn't mean that something lower down the chart won't climb up.

The main competition I'd say was something performed on the X Factor final. Given it's an original song penned by Ed Sheeran, the winner's single could create some buzz and outdo expectations. Also, if Little Mix perform Touch on the Finale, it wouldn't surprise me if that rushed to #1, given their hype at the moment and the fact they can put on quite the show.

I think the X Factor single and the London Hospice Choir are the next two number ones. After that who knows. Maybe Little Mix like Joe said if this Touch song is as good as the fans say it is.

Listen to it Dan, it's MNEK produced and a banger. (let me know what you think)
