They do play loads of female singers - why make this a gender issue?

They do of course play lots of female singers, but in general I think they're noticeably harsher on females.

I think on a general basis they avoid giving too much heavy support for unimaginative bubblegum pop and try and over expose indie turned pop acts and try and make them bigger. So for instance they happily jumped on board with Christine and the Queens as soon as Tilted became big and yet the huge James Arthur no1 was B listed. At the same time they played a lot of The Saturdays but not as much as say Pink!

I never meant that, I mean they don't tend to play ballads by Females.

Ok no problem, but I'm sure there are numerous examples to counter this.
Still obsessed with I Feel It Coming! After liking it at first, then having it grow on me massively, I would go as far to say it's closest 2016 has got to a perfect pop song.

Robbie is going have a really weird chart run with this. The album is sure to climb back into the top 10 during the week now.

Amazing for Zara! Could be a contender for #1 in the new year perhaps? :cheer:

Zara's campaign is such a mess, I have no idea why she's not had her album pre-order up before promotional slots on Children In Need & X Factor. I'm not sure if 'I Would Like' will trouble the top 10, I can see it peaking around #15-22, I love the song but I'm disappointed it's being released as a single especially judging by LQ performances of 'Funeral', 'Permission' and 'Wanna'.

I'm still hoping that 'I Would Like' is not the single that will launch the album, however at this rate we will have heard over half of the album by now.

Streaming it hammering this so hard - It's done well on sales (94-14-8-16-20), hopefully it'll be back in the Top 40 this week.

7. Lady Gaga - Million Reasons

upcoming promo :

- Alan Carr : interview + performance (Friday, Dec 9th)

- Royal Variety Show : performance (Tuesday, Dec 13th)

The promo should be enough for a top 20 peak on the official chart.

Maybe on the sales chart. But unless airplay kicks off, and she gets added to some Spotify playlists, she'll struggle for the top 40 officially. It'll be great for the album though.

It is at #6 when combined just now. Say it falls back to around the #10 mark by Friday morning, the Friday performance should get it back into the top 5 and the Tuesday performance should mean that it stays around the top 5 of iTunes for almost a full week.

If it is around #5 or so on iTunes all week I could definitely see it challenging for top 20 officially.

If she still doesn't get any streaming from it then it will struggle for top 40.

Robbie Williams got to around #5 on iTunes with Love My Life, it stayed in the top 10 all week but only went #33 officially.

The added problem Gaga has is that Christmas songs that are low on iTunes could go ahead of her officially as they will have decent streaming and X Factor Final, BBC Music Awards and Royal Variety itself are going to give a lot of artists chances to boost their singles ahead of Gaga.
