Was Andy Abraham ever marketed as novelty?!

I'd say that some of the 'hype' has worn off Honey G already / the joke got old, and that's why she was out a couple of weeks ago. I don't see this getting anywhere near #1 because I don't think people would be interested in her outside of the performances, on X Factor people could use free app votes to help her along but who's going to part with money or be streaming it constantly?

I wouldn't call Andy Abraham novelty, he was a serious singer with not much of a fun factor.
Is Cher Lloyd strictly considered novelty?

Guess it depends how strict you're being. Maybe in time she actually established herself but I don't think the majority expected her to do that well.

Cher Lloyd really isn't novelty at all  Swagger Jagger maybe with the nursery rhyme chorus but for a start she wasn't even remotely novelty on the show. And Andy Abraham definitely isn't novelty in any way, he was just a usual bland over with a good voice. Reggie and Bollie weren't novelty either as such, they were kind of a Fuse ODG types just very very crap

As for this, it'll be probably be a fun listen that I'll just not really go back to. I can't see it instantly smashing to #1 anyway, maybe top 40 on iTunes based on the hype.

Honey will probably go top 40 for one week then fall epically the next, I can't see people streaming it but it should be a top ten sales hit based on the amount of publicity it will get.

So much hype for this!

Very clever to strike the iron while it's hot! I'm hopeful this will be a "It's Chico Time" level of hit

That's what I was thinking. I CAN see it reaching top 5 on iTunes quite easily.

Honey G will follow in the footsteps of her novelty predecessors Andy Abraham, Chico, Jedward, Same Difference, Cher Lloyd and Reggie & Bollie.

Its Chico Time was the best one from a novelty X factor contestant I think (because alylthough it was a pop song the production was funky house influenced, not surprising as it was early 2006)

One can only hope streaming will go against her and she'll be quickly forgotten.
If they've signed her and not signed Saara, I'm done.

I am sure they will sign Saara, she will have more albums appeal I think than singles though.

If she gets a physical release could actually see this doing something :nocheer: The pre-teens seem to LOVE her and I'm sure daytime TV will be falling over themselves to get her on. I hope I'm wrong though and this smashes with a 37-73-99-Out run!

This is getting a performance on ITV Breakfast tomorrow, must say I'm excited for it. Be interesting to see how high it gets on iTunes what with curiosity buys and the promo from this performance.
