Under the name Friends of Jo Cox featuring MP4, Steve Harley, Ricky Wilson, KT Tunstall and David Gray, the single will be the first to be released on the iconic Chrysalis Records since the label came back into independent ownership earlier this year. Sales from the song, a cover of the Rolling Stones classic You Can’t Always Get What You Want will raise funds for the launch of the Jo Cox Foundation established after her death. The song was chosen as it called for multiple singers and choirs, reflecting a message of togetherness. The four artists were joined in the studio by Kevin Brennan, Sir Greg Knight, Pete Wishart and Ian Cawsey, all members of the cross-party parliamentary band MP4. The track was recorded at The Backstage Centre in Thurrock with the help of students and apprentices from the National College Creative Industries under the supervision of its principal, Jane Button. PWL chief engineer Phil Harding, Rolling Stones’ conductor and music director Suzi Digby and classical engineer Tony Falconer were all also part of the team. The specially created formed multigenerational choir recorded their new take on the classic song at Abbey Road in September 2016. The aim of the single release is to raise awareness and funds for the hospices, spreading an important message at Christmas - to make every living moment count. - Facebook Paul Carrack Paul Melvyn Carrack (born 22 April 1951) is an English singer, songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist who has recorded as both a solo artist and as a member of several popular bands. The BBC dubbed Carrack "The Man with the Golden Voice", while Record Collector remarked: "If vocal talent equalled financial success, Paul Carrack would be a bigger name than legends such as Phil Collins or Elton John." Carrack rose to prominence in the mid-1970s as the frontman and principal songwriter of Ace, and gained further recognition for his work as a solo artist and for his tenures as a member of Roxy Music, Squeeze and Roger Waters' backing band, The Bleeding Heart Band, intermittently handling lead vocals on Squeeze and Waters recordings. From the mid-1980s to the late 1990s, he enjoyed considerable success as the co-frontman (with Paul Young) and a songwriter for Mike + The Mechanics; following Young's death in 2000, Carrack served as the band's sole lead vocalist until his departure in 2004. He maintains an active solo career to the present day. Carrack sang some of his affiliated bands' best-known hits, including Ace's "How Long?"; Squeeze's "Tempted"; and Mike + The Mechanics' "Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)", "The Living Years" and "Over My Shoulder". He also performed lead vocals on tracks from the Roger Waters albums Radio K.A.O.S. and The Wall – Live in Berlin, and achieved a major solo hit with "Don't Shed a Tear". Carrack's songs have been recorded by artists such as the Eagles, Diana Ross, Tom Jones, Michael McDonald and Jools Holland, and he has served as a session and/or touring musician for the likes of Elton John, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, B.B. King, The Pretenders and The Smiths. - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History The London Hospices Choir 2016 xx The Living Years (The London Hospices Choir & Paul Carrack) -NAS- Paul Carrack 1987 48 When You Walk In The Room -1- 1989 60 Don't Shed A Tear -2- 1996 40 Eyes Of Blue -1- 1996 32 How Long? -2- 1997 84 The Way I'm Feeling Tonight -1- 2003 90 She Lived Down The Street -1- 2016 xx The Living Years (The London Hospices Choir & Paul Carrack) -NAS- Social Media The London Hospices Choir http://i.imgur.com/sx7weFD.png http://i.imgur.com/P4ObJLe.png http://i.imgur.com/TUafYW0.png Paul Carrack http://i.imgur.com/sx7weFD.png http://i.imgur.com/P4ObJLe.png http://i.imgur.com/TUafYW0.png http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Discuss%20On%20Buzzjack.png
December 16, 20169 yr I'd say #9 is definitely a hit for Niall! :P Oh yeah of course but for his status it's pretty poor
December 16, 20169 yr I don't think they'll be number 1 next week but if they are, Clean Bandit will be the first act since 1952 - the very first year of the Christmas number 1 single - to be the Christmas number 1 in at least their 7th week at number 1 on the day itself.
December 16, 20169 yr Well I guess, Louis would have gotten to No. 1 if he had released on Friday
December 16, 20169 yr Clean Bandit keeping the #1 over Louis is great to see, can't believe how huge a hit this has been!
December 16, 20169 yr Clean Bandit keeping the #1 over Louis is great to see, can't believe how huge a hit this has been! Tears deserved this much more....a much better song and much different in style to any other song in the charts in 2016, unlike Rockabye (which is yet another tropical house song).
December 16, 20169 yr I can't @ 'I Would Like' officially outpeaking 'Ain't My Fault'. It's not even close to being a patch on it.
December 16, 20169 yr Clean Bandit keeping the #1 over Louis is great to see, can't believe how huge a hit this has been! I agree totally, I love Rockabye and I'm glad it could manage 6 weeks at the top but I think this was its last week on top.

Hopefully next week's is even better.
December 16, 20169 yr Glad Gaga entered and that Calum dropped out. He's still top 40 on sales so streaming has actually done something good and pushed him out
