December 19, 20169 yr It would be wonderful if Little Mix can take the number 2 album position this week. I had hoped for better sales, that said, with this weeks sales added in Little Mix will fly past platinum sales. Glory Days will outsell DNA the following week which is good going in 5-6 weeks.
December 19, 20169 yr That's not a bad lead for Clean Bandit, also considering Sunday's streams aren't included - however Human is still increasing on ITunes pretty quickly. I have a £460 win on CB if they pull this off - right now I can cash out with £390 - opinions guys, should I wait this out, or just take the money and run? Knew the charity singles just wouldn't set off - but never expected them to fo THIS badly. Low album sales in all..was really hoping Little Mix would challenge for that no1, or at least be in contention for 100+k Sales..I was far too optimistic. Amazing to see Touch rise also quickly though.
December 19, 20169 yr You'll get full info later from OCC/Music Week but here's some snippets until then... S I N G L E S 1) Clean Bandit - (21k) 2) Rag'n'Bone Man - (17k) 3) Little Mix [Touch] - (15.2k) 4) Louis Tomlinson X Steve Aoki - (24 sales behind) 5) Matt Terry (Another 184 sales behind) A L B U M S 1) Michael Ball (44.1k) 2) Elvis (28.8k) 3) Little Mix (160 copies behind) 4) The Rolling Stones 5) Olly Murs What a grim prospect at having the Clean Bandit song for Christmas #1 - sums up such a boring year for the charts, the excitement has totally gone.
December 19, 20169 yr so Matt is flopping, the xfactor trick of making a xmas single is not working. Doing better than Louisa's 9-12-61 flop. Although Matt will have a 3-5-87 chart run :kink:

EDIT: In fact I've just done it myself. Cashed out at £89, when I could have held on for £105. Not bad for a £5 bet (plus I also squandered £5 on Mariah!) :D Edited December 19, 20169 yr by Mango
December 19, 20169 yr Clean Bandit as Christmas #1 sums up how bad 2016 has been musically. There is nothing to it - no personality, and no reedeming features at all. Streaming has biased the charts to fanbases, kids and clubbers. I think the ratio should be 225-1.
December 19, 20169 yr Singles and album sales look very low this week for xmas week. At least poo factor isn't number one. This is really quite immature - it's one thing disliking X Factor and you're entitled to an opinion but "poo factor" is the kind of thing a 5 year old would say, no?
December 19, 20169 yr Singles sales are going to be very poor this Christmas by the looks of things. I think the lowest Christmas week sale in the past 20 or so years was 'Somethin' Stupid' by Robbie Willams and Nicole Kidman which sold 110,000 copies in 2001. This week it looks like no record might pass 100,000 sales. The last time that happened was in 1993 when 'Mr Blobby' by Mr Blobby sold 92,500 copies. To find a Christmas number 1 single that sold less than that we have to go back to at least the early 1970s, possibly even the 1950s or 1960s.

December 19, 20169 yr 2016 now holds the record for least number ones with ten, beating 1992's record of only twelve number ones Edited December 19, 20169 yr by Hadji
December 19, 20169 yr 2016 now holds the record for least number ones with ten, beating 1992's record of only twelve number ones Actually 1954 held the record with just 11.
December 19, 20169 yr Actually 1954 held the record with just 11. Ok then I'll rephrase it. 2016 will end up beating 1954's record of least number ones
December 19, 20169 yr Presumably the chart announced on the 30th December will still count as a 2016 week though won't it ? I can see CB staying at number 1 this week and Rag N Bone Man getting there next week...
December 19, 20169 yr 1952 only had one number one, I don't think we'll ever beat that record :P but it's very impressive how few #1s we've managed to get this year! :o
December 19, 20169 yr I'd cash out just incase. £390 is still a good sum of money, is it really worth risking losing it all, for the sake of another comparatively small £70? That's surely not enough to get #1 unless he smashes it on sales in the next few days? Which is unlikely
