December 22, 20168 yr Author Dirty dancing in the moonlight sM_WC6BMLog 3. Banks - The Altar 4. Little Mix - Glory Days I spent a while doubting this album would top Get Weird but it's done it and continues to grow. They have established themselves as a pop force to be reckoned with and with songs like Touch, No More Sad Songs, Power under their belt this album is a beast. It's insanely fun throughout, with none of them taking themselves too seriously and unlike most of their albums so far, it actually flows very well too with the right blend of ballads, upbeat moments and more frantic encounters. Their four personalities shine throughout it all with each offering their own uniqueness to proceedings. I'm seeing them live next year so long may the loving continue <3 And in a year when many of my favourite artists failed to live up to their former glories, Banks managed it sublimely. I see The Altar as the anthethisis to The Goddess which preceded it - that album was about excess right down to the extravagant cover art, in this album she stripped it back and revealed her inner self - raw naked and bare. She does dark, intense pop better than anyone else and the album is filled to the brim with incredible lyrics, heartbreaking revelations and a mystifying exploration into her psyche. She is a troubled soul that reveals all through her music and for that I have nothing but respect. The album ebs and flows and soars in places, with her signature vocals blending perfectly into the crazed production around her. A triumphant return for one who should be a leading lady in music.
December 22, 20168 yr Author Don't come for me today, I'm feeling good -4Ib25IUZ-Y 2. Sia - This is Acting Release an album full of songs you've written for other artists but they rejected them. Who thought for a second this would work? Sia clearly did, the master manipulator os songwriting to make any song fit for any artist. The album begins with a flawless run of 6 or 7 songs where she does not let her vocal acrobatics wane for a second and it's an overwhelming eruption of emotion. The songs are beautifully crafted, sung with passion and desire and produced so exquisitely. It's hard to imagine anyone else singing them and rightfully so because Sia does such a good job. Many of the songs will feature on my singles countdown so I won't go into detail on the specific highlights I share but as a whole package it's totally flawless, unique and sensational.
December 22, 20168 yr First of all Shawn Mendes FAAAAARRR to low :( I am so glad Banks is top 3 such a fabulous album
December 22, 20168 yr Author Every look, every touch makes me wanna give you my heart LN3UOb3iiTE 1. Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman No contest. This album has cemented her status for me. At its heart it's an album of catchy, undeniable pop hooks with her signature vocals throughout but deeper than that it is a concept album about love and its dangers. The fact that the term "danger/dangerous" is repeated so often is no coincidence and its subtle nods like this that make this so much more than just a throwaway pop album. It begins beautifully with Moonlight, which sets the tone for the cinematic experience that is to follow and it ends with *that* orgasmic, explosive array of fantastical adoration - has the feeling of pure love and happiness and adoration been expressed so openly anywhere else this year? With the singles there is no denying that she means business, but throughout the album it is revealed that she isn't quite the dangerous woman you believe her to be and instead frightened of the dangers that love brings. The final quartet of songs, Bad Decisions - Touch It - KB/FB - Thinking Bout You is sensational; each song explicitly explores huge issues of love and lust and she does it with her silky vocals and the sublime production that features throughout the album. It's a beautiful, fun, energetic, revealing, dangerous album with very few fillers, and a whole heap of killers. I absolutely adore the sound she follows and how majestic her lyrics are and how richly they speak to me. I will go into detail much more in the singles, but this for me is the most cohesive, strongest collection of music released this year. Ariana run pop ~
December 22, 20168 yr Great countdown overall and WHAT an album your #1 is 😍 Such a killer. Surprised but pleased to see Banks so high! As much as I love The Altar, I definitely haven't listened to it enough. There's been so so much good music this year and while it was one of my most anticipated, it's one that's suffered the most from being released at the same time as others (namely Travis Scott..)
December 23, 20168 yr Hi Haus I enjoyed quite a few tracks from Banks last era but was disappointed with "This Is Not About Us" and haven't listened to anything else. I can tell that you recommend it though so I should probably give it more of a chance! Am so glad that Little Mix have had such a successful era already so far, so many huge pop tracks on the album and not a single dud for me (aside from maybe Down & Dirty), hoping we get quite a few singles from the era because there are so many highlights. Would love for No More Sad Songs to get a release! :D
December 23, 20168 yr So many great albums in this countdown! Ariana, Benjamin, All Saints, Britney, JoJo, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony in particular  Was hoping for Benjamin to be a little higher though I must admit!
December 23, 20168 yr Dangerous Woman is a stellar album, she really came into her own and emerged as a star  Greedy, Side To Side and of course Into You are the holy trinity of pop perfection ofc. Glory Days and This Is Acting are both very high up for me too <3

Glad you approve! Give Banks another chance, it's a stellar album and up there with The Goddess!! More fine-tuned than that one but with lower highs ~ Hi Haus I enjoyed quite a few tracks from Banks last era but was disappointed with "This Is Not About Us" and haven't listened to anything else. I can tell that you recommend it though so I should probably give it more of a chance! I really hope the era is very long lived too with NMSS getting a big release, my fave album track <3 ur probably rite with the album #1 tbh :o I AM x So many great albums in this countdown! Ariana, Benjamin, All Saints, Britney, JoJo, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony in particular  Was hoping for Benjamin to be a little higher though I must admit! I thought it would be higher too but others kept creeping up ahead of it :( Still an incredible discovery for me though and he is FIT AS f*** and would WIN if this was based on aesthetics ~ Dangerous Woman is a stellar album, she really came into her own and emerged as a star  Greedy, Side To Side and of course Into You are the holy trinity of pop perfection ofc. Glory Days and This Is Acting are both very high up for me too <3 Yay thanks Liam <3
December 23, 20168 yr Author It's all about us right now, where you going? HHP5MKgK0o8 91. Little Mix ft. Sean Paul - Hair 92. Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna - This Is What You Came For 93. Katy B ft. Craig David & Major Lazor - Who Am I 94. Selena Gomez – Kill Em With Kindness 95. Sigala ft. Imani & DJ Fresh - Say You Do 96. Cash Cash & Digital Farm Animals ft. Nelly - Millionaire 97. Drake ft. PARTYNEXTDOOR – With You 98. Mabel - Thinking of You 99. Ryos ft. KARRA - Where We Are 100. Julia Knight - Ghost Of You A few BJSC songs as always lol, Mabel's weakest single to date (still so excited for her debut album!) and my favourite Drake album track from 'Views'! Cash Cash bring back Nelly for that annoyingly catchy number, Sigala takes me back to Summer with Joe and Rob off the site and Selena's "wtf WHY NOT SOBER!?!?1" single grew on me considerably with release and the events than unfolded following it </3 Katy B strips it back and it's not quite the stomper we need from her but 'nice' enough. Calvin Harris waters down Rihanna but thankfully her ANTI album gave us much more of what we want and the first of A FEW LM songs ~~
December 23, 20168 yr Omg at how quickly this is going :o I said about being disappointed with Katy B's latest era but I think Who Am I is definitely one of her better singles. I love the production on it and Craig David is a great addition too. KEWK is a catchy tune and you can't deny that whistling hook but I agree with you that Sober really should've been the single. Bring on the next era now though, I loved the whole of Revival
December 23, 20168 yr I love Millionaire, it's the type of song I shouldn't really like but it sticks in your head and you find yourself singing it  Digital Farm Animals always pull tunes out the bag!
December 23, 20168 yr Author Because you said the same things so many times UVyNRiDSnrg 81. Janet Jackson - Dammn Baby 82. Carly Rae Jepsen - Boy Problems 83. Lady Gaga – A-Yo 84. DJ Snake ft. Justin Bieber – Let Me Love You 85. Shawn Mendes - Mercy 86. Smerz - Because 87. Lady Gaga – John Wayne 88. Terror Jr - Sugar 89. Ariana Grande – Touch It 90. Lady Gaga - Joanne The first of a few Ariana tracks comes in the sublime Touch It which continues the beautiful end to the sensational album. Title track from Gaga's album hasn't had a huge impact on me but it's nice and sums up what it's all about and so deserves an honourable mention~ Another 2 BJSC songs here both of which garnered a bit of a cult following and another 2 Gaga songs lol (one of which should be a single in 2017 - Ayo so prepare for it) ;o Shawn Mendes begs for Mercy to which i'll happily offer him and Bieber rocks up with the first of his collabs of the year. This didn't hit me really hard but it's been a constant enjoyment for the most part of the year. Carly's final single from last year's #1 album features and a song that is so fitting now with the announcement of her pregnancy aged 50, the stunning Janet Jackson with the incredible Dammn Baby <3
December 23, 20168 yr Yay, more people who like "Millionaire"! :cheer: I also really enjoy Terror Jr but "3 Strikes" is by far their best thing. Felix Snow is an incredible producer. Always nice to see Selena/Ari/Bieber get some nods too.
December 24, 20168 yr I LIKE THESE 82. Carly Rae Jepsen - Boy Problems 83. Lady Gaga – A-Yo 84. DJ Snake ft. Justin Bieber – Let Me Love You 85. Shawn Mendes - Mercy 86. Smerz - Because 87. Lady Gaga – John Wayne 88. Terror Jr - Sugar 89. Ariana Grande – Touch It 90. Lady Gaga - Joanne 91. Little Mix ft. Sean Paul - Hair 94. Selena Gomez – Kill Em With Kindness 95. Sigala ft. Imani & DJ Fresh - Say You Do MARIAH *.* 96. Cash Cash & Digital Farm Animals ft. Nelly - Millionaire 99. Ryos ft. KARRA - Where We Are 100. Julia Knight - Ghost Of You Fabulous *.*
December 24, 20168 yr Sugar was my fave BJSC entry of yours this year, WHAT a jam - still cannot believe it DNQ'd (Ghost of You my second fave I think so good to see that here too) cannot argue with that album #1 and great to see BANKS so high, what a powerful piece of work The Altar is ❤
December 24, 20168 yr Hiya again Bal I agree with you that A-yo has got to be the next single, so much fun! Shame everything she's releasing is really struggling charts wise when the quality is still so high :( I need Diamond Heart to be a single/get a video too tho!!
December 24, 20168 yr Mercy is nice, probably hit me the least out of the 3 hits when I first heard it but it hasn't worn off on me yet! Some nice Gaga tracks here as well!
