Best soap episode of the year tonight. Not only for the justice Belle received, but for the portrayal of the entire episode, highlighting the problematic angles people often take with regards to domestic abuse and coercive control. Denise Welch absolutely killed it as a member of the jury, and obviously Eden Taylor-Draper and James Chase have been incredible this entire storyline. Then the episode finishing with the voices of women in similar predicaments to Belle's, with the actors using real women's stories. So powerful, I hope awards are on the way for Emmerdale after tonight (and this whole storyline).

this episode better sweep up the soap awards next year!!!

Today's ep made me laugh

Anthony attacking Nicola, Laurel hitting him with an candlestick. Emmerdale's budget version of the Six :D

Saying that have been enjoying Emmerdale more; feels more focused; Joe coming back is welcome, the departures of certain cast members is needed. Also the Ruby storyline is actually good. Chas is even bearable in it :o

Chas was ruined with the affair storyline, for me her character had never recovered and I'd be happy if she went which won't happen.

I have to applaud this limo stunt, seen bits on social media so decided to watch it today in my hangover day and that was brilliant!

Parts of this week have been really strong - the boys limo crash was a complete non-event though.

Also must be the first stunt which has had so many deaths + Nate's body in the lake as well for quite some time.

Suzy and Leyla

Plus Amy in tonight's ep

Its a shame some of the male cast couldn't have been culled though :D

Leyla is going to be a huge miss for me  hurts even more knowing she was axed too!

I agree that the male limo should’ve been the one to crash! But there’s definitely big drama from the deaths especially Amy’s (although I hope it’s not ALL about Saint Cain).

Have to admit it was funny seeing people side against Cain given how hypocritical his character is judging everyone when hes never pulled up on anything he does

Poor Suzy as well still being in the lake and being in the limo when it went down!

Emmerdale was actually top soap for me last week though some very stellar performances and the scenes with Amy under the water / bashing on the ice were really unsettling to witness. One of the scariest soap deaths for some time!

Stunning episode today, really felt for Cain. Another one that was brilliantly produced and directed. I don't watch often but I'm always bowled over by how good it is in comparison to the other soaps

This show has been on fire this year - it hasn't missed a beat IMO, it's truly wiping the floor with the other soaps. Tonight's episode was another example of how great it currently is, Jeff Hordley was superb.

Return confirmed for

Spoiler

Patsy Kensit as Sadie King

I've been watching Emmerdale religiously this year (gave up on EastEnders at the end of March but might still go back, and cannot get into Corrie at all) and it's been so good. Cain's storyline has been done brilliantly, and the Jacob/Todd stuff - while infuriating lmao - has been gripping as it keeps unravelling.

Unquestionably the most consistent soap for the last few years now, it rarely loses my interest.

I’m obsessed with the utterly camp as anything Dr Todd 🤣

Emmerdale does villainous characters better than any other soap for me! Crazy it’s the only soap not to win best villain / villain of the year at the soap awards too!

The Dingles are often for me the “meh“ element the way we’re always supposed to champion them even when they’re very mostly in the wrong 😆 but I’m loving Dr Todd as previously mentioned, i think Jacob’s been great since Leylas passing, Bears been brilliant the last few months too!

I'm shocked at that, but at the same time since I've started watching again the character's felt very much like furniture in the background just there to provide comedy moments whenever they feel like it. A far cry from what the Kings were when they were first introduced.

I forget hes still in it at times hes that much of a background character, be a shame to see him go though, also guess it makes sense with the spoiler return from the other day
