Really impressive how Strictly seems to have become even more successful this year! The collapse of X Factor has probably helped a lot!

On Monday, the #GoldenMinuteUK went again to @itvcorrie: at 19.51, 7.9m were watching ITV

Highest rating for Emmerdale since 23 January. Eastenders seems like it is being affected by the crap ratings surrounding it and the strong ratings on ITV; it should really be hitting 6m on Mondays.

Never thought I'd see the day that ANTIQUES ROADSHOW (!) would beat the X Factor on the official ratings :o

#GBBO #ItalianWeek gave @Channel4 yesterday's #GoldenMinuteUK At 21.03, 7.5m were watching the #showstoppers @LoveProductions

Our Girl Series Openers

Series 1 (2014): 3.91m (16.9%)

Series 2 (2016): 3.77m (22.9%)

Series 3 (2017): 4.03m (21.0%)

Not having that 15 minute clash with Doctor Foster has really helped Bake Off - that's the highest since the first episode received 6.52m. In fact, excluding +1, it beat the first episode too.

21:00 Doc Martin - 5.07m (24.4%)

Another Wednesday, another #GoldenMinuteUK for @itvcorrie: at 19.56, 7.4m were watching the @ITV soap.

Good that The Apprentice rose week-on-week and made the 5m mark. It'll be getting hard competition than Doc Martin when I'm a Celebrity returns so it needs to do as well as possible in the meantime. Doc Martin, however, remains unfazed (it's ratings the past three episodes have been 5.07m, 5.06m and 5.07m!).

In regards to the most watched programmes of 2017 so far (7-day data and including +1), this year has seen 7 programmes pass the 10m mark. Last year had a total of 11 programmes pass 10m. We've got the likes of Blue Planet II, I'm a Celebrity and the New Year's' Eve fireworks coming up which are all likely to reach 10m, which would take us up to 10. I think that the Bake Off final could actually hit 10m too, which would match last year's 11 programmes.

Can't think of anything else that is due to air this year that could get 10m, but I suppose something at Christmas could possibly stand a chance at doing so.

The last series of Bake Off saw its finale jump 3.62m from the 10.38m average the series rated in the first nine episodes before it. I don't know if Channel 4 will see that sort of jump but a 2m increase definitely seems plausible which would actually push them into the 8m region. That would likely give it a 10m+ rating in the official ratings published by BARB, too.
The last episode on BBC might have influenced that a little more than usual. 2015’s jump may be a better reference point

That had an even bigger jump - 3.88m up from the average of 9.52m for the first 9 episodes.

It's alright, I thought you might have been onto something there! I think this year's final could even exceed most of our expectations tbh. I don't watch the programme but it would be nice if it could remain stable on Channel 4 in following series.
