I had your scores under the wrong name! Edited now. You should see them :)

Didn't Secret Love Song come 2nd in the last rate which was basically the time of its release? The same will happen to Touch, y'all just riding on the hype and soon you'll realise its not actually that good!!

No, it wasn't released yet. LMLY was the newest/current single then, and it came 5th, and got an even higher average this time round.

Maybe its this one I'm thinking of.

I do think that Touch will become dated in time though, its perhaps their only song that is chasing a trend.

Really? Wasn't BM following the 80's trend done by Carly/Taylor? It still sounds amazing.

I'm shocked that LMLY didn't make the Top 5  Also, SOTME only #7?! MESS!

I'm predicting Salute will go next - I'm glad to see it made the Top 5 though. Such a jam! Although, I hope DNA gets the boot - I find it massively overrated.

Already gone!

ALL this 'DNA' shade. Can you guys, literally not please.

'DNA' is a pop masterpiece. It still gives me chills every time I hear it!

Also, 'Salute' would've ideally finished at least 2nd, but I'm not moaning at 5th for it. What a banger!

I personally would've had Salute higher than DNA, but I'd say 5th is about right for Salute

Don't worry Jonjo. I think Jay is still bitter because 'DNA' sold more than 'Something New'. :P

:')

'Salute' - Yeah this is definitely a firm fan fave, given it's position here and I do really like it, ok it's not one of my personal faves from them and I would personally rank in the bottom half of the top 10. It was a great way to end the 'Salute' era and honestly think that if it wasn't released so late and having 'WU' jammed in the middle of everything, then the song would have done a lot better and to be honest I was just happy that the album got another single, given that 'LM' didn't exactly set the charts alight, but we did and I'm glad and it's #6 peak was pretty good enough all things considering and can see why this is so loved, and I really do like the drive and power the girls put into this and it is fantastic live.

I think 'Touch' may drop next.

LMLY getting dragged by that one 0. I'm quite sad now, my favourite by theirs by a mile. Maybe my favourite song of all time. It's just SOOOO amazing

Move out next :o

I think so too, but would love to be proven wrong.

I didn't care for Secret Love Song a year ago and when I re-listened for this rate I completely changed my mind!

Already gone!

Whoops  Totally missed that!

As long as Black Magic or Move wins, I'm happy!

04 'Black Magic' [Average: 8.93]

Chart Peak: #01

Sales: 980k

Highest: Juliano, Outstanding Mixer, Karl., Josh., caseclosed, Filature, Serg Mix, Qween, JosephCarey, Matt1989, SamJudd, Haus, Slick, ★ Jay ★, Samantha1989, MrLoverboy, (10) AdamAloud, rafik4u, RobBob,

Lowest: Jade (-1)

'Black Magic' may not always last as their biggest or highest selling hit, but I think it'll always be their most important. It was that moment when they climbed over the wall from being a successful, coasting pop group to becoming a top tier UK act. The lead up to 'Black Magic' was wobbly: The Salute era didn't perform as well as the DNA era, and although it did well, declining sales is always a bad sign for pop acts - girl groups in particular. Then the American tour was cancelled and the album had to be re-recorded. It all lead to quite a long wait for new music. Also, any wait is a risky strategy for a pop group.

However, they struck gold with 'Black Magic', I remember the moment I heard it I knew it'd be huge for them. And what's great about 'Black Magic', is that as huge as it was, it didn't translate as a faceless pop hit like 'Work From Home', 'Call Me Maybe' , 'What About Us' or even 'Love Me Like You Do', where the song is just bigger than the artist, and it doesn't end up translating into the same level of album sales. 'Black Magic' managed to generate buzz around them as a group that they'd not had before, and it's been a steady path up in every way, ever since.

As a song, it's a straightforward pure pop banger, loved by many. It's almost in "overplayed" territory for me at this point but I can't complain when it's the main reason they've managed to become as big as an act as they are now.

Seriously though, Jade g0rl, I know you've expressed strong dislike for this in the past but -1 hurts.

That is so true, everyone knows the song above but many can't even say the name of the singer.

With that gone... MOVE TO WIN THIS THING :cheer:

Slightly surprised this isn't in the Top 3. I'd say Black Magic is the most important single of their careers as after the Salute era didn't perform as well as it should (I could spend all day talking about what could've been done better) the lead from Album 3 simply had to be a banger. If it had flopped that could well have been game over, but Black Magic is one of those songs that as soon as you first hear it you know it's gonna be big, although I don't think any of us could've dreamt at that point just how big it would prove to be
