01. Wake Me Up

02. The Show

03. Jump

04. Love Machine

05. I'll Stand By You

All of these were the perfect single choices, 'Love Machine' is a classic of course but overplay has killed some of the enjoyment for me.

The Show

Wake Me Up

Jump

I'll Stand By You

Love Machine

The two covers are interchangeable and Love Machine never connected with me at all, sadly. The Show is their best.

4. I'll Stand By You

I really love all of these though  that top 2 in particular are incredible! The Show is one of their most underrated songs I think.

The Show clearly stands out for me, Wake Me Up and Love Machine are very good, Jump doesn't really belong here and I'll Stand By You is alright, and all of them worked perfectly at that point of their career.

I rarely like covers and ballads weren't their strong point (would love to hear the alleged first take on I'll Stand By You though, which was rumoured to be more Xenomania-esque, but didn't sound right for a Children In Need single).

Love Machine is a classic, such good pop and I have memories of doing it on SingStar. Fabulously camp, one of their very best. Always adored their cover of I'll Stand By You too. The Show is nice but not something I'd go back to LOADS and I've never been that bothered about Wake Me Up.

I think I made my feelings on 'Jump' pretty clear in the other thread! One of their best.

'Wake Me Up', like 'Long Hot Summer', seems to get forgotten about but has now most definitely secured itself as one of my favourites. Non-stop energy from start to finish and has an edginess and spark that harks back to their previous era, following the makeover they went under this era. Love the hairflips in the video.

'Love Machine' was a school disco essential and I think I can still master the dance moves! I'm stuck between whether this or 'SOTU' is their signature hit, but either way, this is definitely iconic.

'I'll Stand By You' is a lovely cover but just not one I return to much and 'The Show' is overrated.

I adore The Show and Love Machine so much perfect upbeat songs for them

Wake Me Up and I'll Stand By You are great but do not go back to as much tbh and I'll Stand By You is not my favourite ballad by them

Not as strong as the singles run from their first album. In fact, I'd rank all of the songs below my least favorite ('Life Got Cold') from SOTU. Again, it's the cover that's a clear dead last for me.

Wake Me Up is one of my favourite GA singles ever. If that was the lead I think it would've gone to #1. The Show is great too. Lover Machine has never been one I've warmed to - ISBY is not a patch on the original.
