January 16, 20178 yr 'Arcade Summer' or 'Earth Not Above' to win or more realistically... 'On Hold' please

Elsewhere there's the newly crowned Welsh Music Prize winner Meilyr Jones, The Rolling Stones with a single from their big comeback album Blue & Lonesome, and a slow burning hit from Icelandic band Kaleo (following its countless appearances in tv shows/ads and whatnot)
January 16, 20178 yr 'White Lies' is the only song I know from that batch! I was pleasantly surprised by how good it is.

Also in this batch: punk newcomers Creeper, and The Strumbellas with their breakthrough track "Spirits". Birdeatsbaby pop up once again this year, with a rather nice points tally courtesy of Severin!
January 17, 20178 yr Three of mine out on the first day, but not surprising as my definition of indie / alternative is very different to most folk on here. Thanks for featuring King Creosote's video in that part of the rundown. Criminal that it didn't receive any further points from anyone! Ditto Cate Le Bon. Cheers to whoever gave Malcolm Middleton some points and I'm assuming Teenage Fanclub picked up a few too elsewhere. At least Teleman featured in several BJ users charts, so fingers crossed it gets me one track in the top 100.

Car Seat Headrest's brilliant "Fill in the Blank" tops this final batch before the Top 100. Quite a few of The-BrightPlaces' nominations leave us here: including The Summer Set and album tracks from Jamie T & Bastille (those two still have singles to come of course). Suede are represented with "What I'm Trying to Tell You" from their very good Night Thoughts album (would've been nice to see Like Kids or Outsiders in the mix now i think about it!). White Lies also appear with the lead single from their fourth, they may be a bit under the radar now but they've still got a knack for a solid pop hook!

The Lumineers scraped past the finish line with a #1 album with recent effort Cleopatra, 'Ophelia' being the first taster from it. Towards the top end we have A. K. Paul, the equally enigmatic brother of Jai, and the infectious opener for 'I Remember', AlunaGeorge's Full Swing~

January 17, 20178 yr 'Roll Up' is great, I remember it being played on plug.dj and sounded just as good as 'HandClap'. 'Take It Or Leave It' also another fave from these batches *.*

January 18, 20178 yr you mean better than Handclap ;)Yes!! I'd never heard it until yesterday otherwise I would have voted for it. Fitz and the Tantrums' back catalogue is excellent too, although not quite as catchy as 'Handclap' and 'Roll Up'.
