74 Jagwar Ma - O B 1 120

75 Kllo - Bollide 116

76 Bear's Den - Auld Wives 115

78 Cherry Glazerr - Told You I'd Be With The Guys 111

79 Milk Teeth - Brain Food 111

80 Coldplay - Everglow 110

funky synths and falsettos were the port of call for Two Door Cinema Club's single "Bad Decisions" :music: Bear's Den peak at #76 here with Auld Wives, though there's still one more appearance to come from Against The Current, Jagwar Ma and Coldplay. Savages pop up at #72, "The Answer" is originally a 2015 single but when the music's this damn good there's no time for pedantry ~

Everglow and Bad Decisions are both amazing, fantastic to see them featured. I doubt Are We Ready? (Wreck) will feature for Two Door Cinema Club later on in the countdown but it'd be nice to see it there.

68 School Of Seven Bells - Ablaze 127

69 M83 feat. Mai Lan - Go! 126

70 Animal Collective - Golden Gal 125

Hard not to love the heavy, rumbling riffs on The Kills' "Doing It to Death"! BJSC entries from Séyetana (Arion) and Tinnmark (Wardruna) are in here too along with a song from School of Seven Bells' swansong album, the wonderful "Ablaze"

Stoked to see Cherry Glazerr in the top 80. My favourite indie/alt/rock/etc single of the year and had no idea it had any support here.
I'd have liked to have seen it a lot higher. The album is pretty good too.

Bad Decisions, OB1, The Answer, Everglow, Auld Wives, Golden Gal, Ablaze, Go!, Give Me A Reason, Make It Up, Wow, No Care and Doing It To Death.

Great countdown so far!

Shura and Beck a little lower than I expected, but then, I'm not so familiar with the music taste of folk in this sub. Fun countdown so far, a big spread of what's picking up points!

'Odal' was a divine BJSC discovery <3

I am such a flop Coldplay fan. I still haven't listened to their latest album in full yet and I think I've maybe heard 'Everglow' just the once. Need to get on that~

Chairlift's wistful and wonderful ballad "Crying In Public" heads this latest batch, along with singles from Jamie T and electronic producer Nicolas Jaar. BJSC hits from Quintessa and Trifoski are here too, awesome hard rock song Square Hammer, and best song ever Touch-Tone Telephone

Plaitum had a big 2016 in buzzjack's song contests, a victory in Unknown Pleasures with "LMHY" followed by a bronze medal in BJSC with "Jagwa", the latter taking #47 on this countdown. More Chairlift here, with storming pop track "Romeo", and also the first of two appearances for PJ Harvey ~

32 Blossoms - Charlemagne 209

33 PJ Harvey - The Wheel 208

34 Against The Current - Running With The Wild Things 205

35 Aron Can - Með Mér 200

36 L.E.J - La dalle 197

37 Sleigh Bells - I Can Only Stare 197

38 Teleman - Dusseldorf 197

39 Kitten - Fall On Me 196

40 MUNA - Winterbreak 195

Into the top 40, and cheers all around from me and Richie as Teleman's (imo) standout single "Dusseldorf" finds a rather big tally of 197 points. Among the others are underappreciated MUNA song "Winterbreak" (though it clearly found a few big fans at least!), a more straightforward and effective pop track from Sleigh Bells with "I Can Only Stare", a Persephonian hip hop smasher from Aron Can (which mustered up three sets of maximum points!!), more Jadakissnia with "Earth Not Above", and household name PJ Harvey with brilliant lead single "The Wheel". Indie pop band Blossoms also hit the big time, with "Charlemagne" getting a full daytime radio push in 2016.

22 James Blake feat. Bon Iver - I Need A Forest Fire 254

23 Yeasayer - I Am Chemistry 248

24 Glass Animals - Youth 245

25 BANKS - Gemini Feed 239

27 PVRIS - You and I 224

28 Wolf Alice - Lisbon 215

29 Bon Iver - 8 (circle) 212

30 LUH - I&I 211

It's all about Glass Animals in this 21-30 group! indie pop in 2016 didn't get much better than "Life Itself" really, with its infectious melodies and colourful/quirky instrumentation. More great tracks in here from Yeasayer, La Femms, BANKS, and of course Bon Iver with a mellow and soulful cut from his 22, A Million album, "8 (circle)". The slow-building beauty "I&I" from LUH. is also essential

16 Mai Lan - Technique 267

17 Mitski - Your Best American Girl 266

18 The 1975 - Somebody Else 266

19 twenty one pilots - Lane Boy 259

20 Jessy Lanza - It Means I Love You 257

Mitski gave dhwe a well-deserved Nuggets victory with the gorgeous "Your Best American Girl", which is also rewarded with a Top 20 finish here. Jessy Lanza used a cutesy vocal delivery and jittery instrumental to great effect on one of the year's best tracks, IT MEANS I LUV YA~ The 1975 continued their strong run with moody synth ballad "Somebody Else", and twenty one pilots gave "Lane Boy" a post-mainstream breakthrough single release (this is a first of quite a few tracks of theirs to come). And of course we can't forget Miss Mai Lan :D ~teknik~

Jadakissnia impact for two batches in a row *.* and yay for the best Trifoski entry of last year appearing too x 'Sphynx' is mesmerising

11 twenty one pilots - Ride 314

12 Bastille - Good Grief 313

13 ANOHNI - Drone Bomb Me 295

14 SOFI TUKKER - Matadora 276

15 Radiohead - Burn The Witch 268

SOFI TUKKER was introduced to Buzzjack via Desbuanda's hit "Matadora", kicked off by charango strums before hitting you with pounding drum beats and a MASSIVE horn refrain. It's all very ~eclectik~ but actually really irresistible once you get used to it, anyone who hasn't heard Sofi Tukker's "Soft Animals" EP is doing themselves a disservice! Joining them in this final batch before the Top 10 are Radiohead with their brooding "Burn The Witch" (complete with one of the year's best videos), Bastille's comeback "Good Grief", ANOHNI's striking take on drone warfare on "Drone Bomb Me", and one of twenty one pilots' big smash singles "Ride" (all four of their tracks were in the Top 10 at one point, but only half remained at the end- thankfully, as that would've been JUST A TAD overkill)
