I was hoping Rag'n'Bone Man's sales would decrease from last week, not increase

If only Lana could even hold number 40. :arrr:

Wonderful sales for Ed Sheeran in the singles number 1 and both Stormzy and Rag N Bone Man in the album chart.

No matter how much you love Rag'n'Bone Man, or hate Stormzy, you can't deny that it's very unfortunate that one of the artists that brings cultural diversity to British music and gives homegrown British music a voice among generic, label-fronted pop is looking like missing out on the top spot, although his sales are really impressive regardless and a great reminder of how grime is growing in the musical world.

Fingers crossed artists like himself can help it continue to thrive and let the brilliance and rawness of grime reach the general public to more extents.

Also so bloody annoying to see Lana looking like missing the top 40 AGAIN, any idea whether she'll make it or not? I've got an awful feeling she'll be #41 again, her making the top 40 is just too good to be true :(

This is so true. Some very short-sighted posts on here just because people don't like the "grime" genre.

Maybe Jason Derulo will fall past Lana to give her a better chance?

Shame Katy Perry won't climb. Having studied iTunes and Spotify so closely, I don't get how 'Human' is pulling ahead of her.

Jason will probably fall behind Lana, but the likes of 'Closer', 'Starboy' and 'Sexual' are just outside the Top 40 and are bound to overtake her.
So is it looking likely that Lana will miss out then? :(

Ah never mind for Gang Signs & Prayer, still a superb opening week's sales. Shame MOR will always continue to dominate the album chart.

Loving the look of the Singles Chart right now, hoping Calvin can stay in the top 10 & would like Lana to stay top 40 but not looking likely...

A good point brilliantly made

Sadly. Annoyingly she would easily make it if the streams of Stormzy's album weren't counted towards the singles chart -_-

But a number two album with those sales and several tracks in the official top 40 is still a great achievement.

And it's not like Rag N Bone Man is some manufactured, American, trend following, chart friendly, dance/pop act anyway.

I think people should just enjoy the fact two British, original and creative acts are doing well and not worry so much about who is number one and number two.

I definitely agree, and I think even though Stomzy's music generally isn't for me, he's doing something fresh instead of a rehash of the same kind of middle of the road thing Rag N Bone Man is doing.

Lana and indeed many other artists are missing out on Top 40 positions due to the insane OCC decision to allow album tracks to chart, thus clogging up the charts, with tracks that haven't been released as singles - and it's about to get a whole lot worse.

whats the difference id charted song is a single or album track?

OCC shows popularity and do you want to make a picture false?

ERM not to come across as snobby but hasn't the chart always been based on what music is mist popular that week its just a shame since the streaming era we having more situations like this

The OCC calls it the Official Singles Chart Top 100 it's not a singles chart anymore; it's a most streamed/downloaded/purchased TRACKS chart - IF it's a singles chart, it should be just that, or else let's change the name - which is not what most of us want. I certainly don't want to see album tracks charting, clogging up the charts - why have an albums chart at all anymore????

Just ignore the troll

I totally agree with you, anyway, especially with other new releases they will get nowhere
