February 27, 20179 yr Stormzy is on 34k, 2k ahead of RagnBinman, I think some of you were doing a little bit too much with the predicitions for Stormzy. Like I thought - I think streaming has harmed him, huge streaming 'sales' but lower physicals and downloads. Stormzy is exactly the kind of artist you would expect to slay on streaming and have multiple track entries in the singles chart but i did think actual sales would go against him, either way incredible outcome for a independently distributed and released act!

February 27, 20179 yr The hype/buzz for Lana feels like double what we got when High By The Beach was out, and I loved that song. Hopefully it's a really strong campaign for her and she manages multiple top 40s and good album longevity.
February 27, 20179 yr Whether Stormzy or Rang N Bne Man make number 1, sales for the top 2 will be strong which is welcoming. Ed Sheeran will follow with massive sales and Take That should manage decent sales too. It will be good to see consecutive weeks of good sales (even if only, in the higher end of the chart). Wonderful to see Lana Del Ray on course to enter the top 40.
February 27, 20179 yr I hope LDR4 impacts the world like BTD. I've been listening to Dark Paradise a lot recently, I need that sound back. :wub: Lana says this album will be for her fans this time so hopefully it's more like her earlier work.

February 27, 20179 yr I wouldn't be surprised that if it comes down to the wire and it looks like RNBM will get it then I think Stormzy and his team will really go for it on social media and possibly reduce the download for a day or 2 like other acts have done recently when sales have been close (Rick Astley, Passenger etc.,). I don't think Stormzy is the kind of act that will chase chart positions but his team will know getting the #1 album will cause huge media coverage and realistically with Ed, Chainsmokers, Take That etc., releasing soon plus Mothers Day coming up it's probably his only chance to go to #1 this week.

I also feel like their is much more excitement for this era although as a Lana stan, its very difficult for me to accurately gauge the general publics thoughts :lol:

February 27, 20179 yr I saw the Stormzy album in my local Morrisons (which isn't usually that good for new releases). I didn't buy it though.
