Really hoping that an living music legend in Vera Lynn can at least get Top3 in the albums chart. Hoping that she can dislodge Ed Sheeran but that is unlikely.
It would certainly be interesting if she did - the last time Vera Lynn had a number 1 album she knocked the Arctic Monkeys from the top! The top 10 that week (w/e 19/09/09) also contained 4 Beatles albums with Alan Jones heading his Music Week Chart Analysis column with the wonderful heading "Vera Lynn beats Beatles to the top". Other top 10 albums that week were by Jamie T (a new entry at number 2), David Guetta, Kings Of Leon and The Cribs. Vera's album sold 32,826 copies with Alan Jones commenting that at the age of 92 she was the oldest artist to have a number 1 album...

OCC: "The Ed Sheeran situation is a one-off, it won't happen in years". :D

Well unless Drake manages to get three quarters of the top 20 then the OCC will still be proved right there.

I do agree there is a larger issue here though, too many albums recently have taken up lots of spots in the singles chart, not just in the UK though it is a problem worldwide.

its lasting more than one week though. Its week 3 now and the singles chart is still cluttered with Ed

At this rate, there could only be three songs in this Friday's top 40 which aren't Drake or Ed Sheeran

Honestly I can 100% guarantee you that won't be the case

Looks like things are starting to get back to normal, at the top end of the singles chart at least! Amazing to see four songs looking to make the top 10 for the first time this week, hoping it can stay that way (and I doubt Drake will be posing a threat with 2 days of missed sales)
Good to see Martin Solveig Top 40! Hope it can stay there come Friday!

Depends on Drake's album tracks

Glad to see Clean Bandit starting at 5, as well as Martin Jensen and Anne-Marie breaking the top 10! Is Anne-Marie looking set to stay top ten?

Lorde coming for a new peak!

Surprised Zara isn't doing so good. I expected a 25k opening considering how many hits she has.

Good to see Martin Solveig top 40! Expecting him to stay around #30 for the rest of the week. Also hoping Galway Girl can get to #1, I expect that'll go right down to the wire, though I have a feeling that Shape Of You will stay at the top for another week.

Still not convinced we'll be getting Drake anywhere near the top 10 - he's not got any album tracks top 200 at the moment (of course this is with Sunday's streaming missing), it's a huuuuuge gap to make up especially as none of the album tracks are doing as well as Ed's. I think we'll see the current 10 songs remain top 10, maybe a couple of them swapping their order, and Drake songs will enter lower.
What did Depence Mode do first week with their last 2 or 3 albums?
I think Drake's tracks will be more dominant in later updates, given his late arrival
SO Drake's album is already number 2 for sure (With missing streaming from yesterday...) and he lost 2 days anyway so he'll finish number 2 not bad really :)
With all the publicity surrounding Dame Vera Lynn's Birthday today she may yet overtake Depeche Mode, she seems to have increased Sales quite significantly based on current Amazon best sellers. Looking like she will be behind Ed and Drake though.

PTA - 32,505

SOTU - 30,537

Delta Machine - 28,450

Vera is looking to overtake Depeche Mode by Friday regardless of her birthday boost tbh, it was outselling them comfortably yesterday!
