Iggy's 'Mo Bounce' sold 15k I believe and missed the hot 100 so genuinely scared for her :o She wouldn't do that badly surely?

She needs to do a Rihanna ANTI when Rihanna saw Breath In, Breathe Out and those other 2, I forgot them, were flops. She re-did the WHOLE album!! She came back with more bops. They still flopped but not so badly.

She should have booked some promo for the first week, Chained was predicted for 30k in its first week before the Grammys performance which luckily kind of saved its first week and it ended up selling a lot more after that.

I think she's on track to miss the top 40 in the UK and maybe US.

Yeah it's top 60 on Spotify US streaming with ~350k streams a day at the moment, that means she's probably headed for around 3 million streams by the end of the week in the US overall, which'll work out at a fair bit more than 17k!

 

(it'll still probably miss the top 40 but I doubt it'll miss the top 100 altogether!)

Can someone PLEASE ban Michael from this forum (and Gaga's whilst we're at it) PLEASE!? :zzz: Honestly, I don't mind anyone who hates the song to comment etc.. so it's not about it being a negative opinion, it's just that his posts are so repetitive, boring and just a chore to read and really ruins my enjoyment of coming in here!

 

Gutted about it's chart performance! I really hope it doesn't get cancelled as a single, coz I can see this growing and becoming a bit of a stable hit in the end. Especially if the video was to be killer, like I'd expect it would be!

Can I just say (and I've discussed this with friends irl too) that it is actually so liberating for an artist to "flop" quite badly and then stop caring about charts and success et al. I've learnt it the hard way with Gaga an era ago and with Madonna too I guess (and Prince retrospectively). Once the stigma of them being mega successful goes they are free to experiment, be artists and do WHATEVER THE f*** THEY WANT like the artists I mentioned do/did. It's liberating not only for the artist themselves to get through a shit period and come out of it rejuvenated and free but also for the fans.

 

This is all hyperbole in Katy's case. It's ONE song, what artist hasn't had a flop single? But SHOULD this spell a period of ""chart flopping"" welcome it and embrace it and let her be free to do whatever she wants and actually ENJOY being a popstar which she seems to not be doing recently :( I'm really rooting for her.

I mean, it's first week is pretty underwhelming, but it's only 5 years old so I do think it's way too early to brandish this an outright flop just yet.

Exactly, it is only one song :lol: If you look at huge artists, Cher for example had pretty much a whole flop decade for most of the 80s! And even the likes of Madonna and Prince had flop albums, one song is nothing. Especially when she smashed with Chained To The Rhythm just a few months ago. It's so easy nowadays to just brush this off as a promo single if she wanted to anyway, I know the pop industry is fickle but it's not so bad that this would end her whole career by "only" peaking at like #38.

On a side note, it's a shame that the Migos feature is so redundant on this. All of her features are just so unnecessary tbh, the solo version of California Gurls/Chained to the Rhythm/Dark Horse/ET are all better tbh (especially the latter when they cut out the AMAZING middle 8 to insert a Kanye verse...). I can barely remember the last time she did a good collab where both artists actually provide something worthwhile, probably Starstrukk & If We Ever Meet Again for me!

I'd rather him banned from the whole forum tbh :') but his posts in here and the Gaga forum are the worst, definitely.

 

I'm also hoping this remains a single despite its chart performance. I agree with Bal, it'd be great for them to not be influenced by charts and to just go for it anyway. I think an amazing video would sell it so, so well and I can't imagine a video for this not being ridiculously fun. Her looks at the met gala were 👌🏼 can't wait to see more visuals from this era.

 

Probably biased because I loved Migos anyway but I do feel like they add to the song! Lots of the criticism for the song in general is that it doesn't go anywhere (which I don't agree with..) but if the feature wasn't there, it'd feel more like that. Offset's verse is my favourite part of the song – that melody along with the change in production is perfect.

Oh please, Kanye is amazing on E.T. That song is nothing without him!

E.T. is so much better solo for me, not here for Kanye's addition at all, same for Migos on this really. I do enjoy Snoop, Juicy J and Skip's contributions to their respective singles though!

Skip makes CTTR for me! The solo version of Bon Appétit is wayyy better than the released one though, don't know why they didn't just release that tbh. That's not to say the released one is bad, I just don't particularly like Migos's part :lol:
