yas iz!! i'm helping out with leafletting at the moment, obviously living away from my home constituency where i've got myself involved limits how much i can do for them, but i'm hoping to get out onto the streets a bit more leading up to the GE *.* my mum voted remain, i think she's seen how i've gone from passionate tory voter to absolutely disillusioned with them and wants to use her vote for my generation!

My mum usually votes Green but is apparently going Labour this time. Pretty sure my dad always votes Tory.
I'm pretty sure my family is sworn off voting Tory, the amount of conversations where we agree on awful things that Theresa has been doing should indicate that (and my mum constantly says she looks miserable) - I don't think it's going to be split at all, I think it'll all be Lib Dem. Speaking of which, I'm going to go out campaigning for them tomorrow.

Is that your first time campaigning?

Mugwumps were mentioned in The Mamas & The Papas Creeque Alley back in 1967 (it was a band name), which is about the period Johnson is trying to turn back the economic clock to.

Just cos someone appears to be amusing, doesn't mean they aren't nasty, hypocritical liars. Which he is. Fact. I can say that without worry about consequences, because he has lied about so much and admitted it after being forced to. So I'll put in Upper Case. LIAR. HYPOCRITE. JOHNSON.

Because bombing the Middle East has turned out so well for everyone......every time.

He used to have a column in the Telegraph before he was sacked for lying.

He was in Michael Howard's front bench team before being sacked for lying.

Clearly Cameron and May have lower standards.

Yes actually, I was a Labour member but I never went along to anything and didn't get involved as I had university stuff to worry about (at least that's what I told myself, I just wasn't confident enough). I expect it'll just be leafletting but anything I can do to help will be good.

It's all good fun! Knocking on doors is a bit scary the first time but it's fine once you get used to it.

I'm actually very undecided on who I'm voting for! Hoping for a clearer mind after seeing the manifestos/candidates for my area (my current MP is not standing thankfully). None of the parties are at their most appealing for me.

I like keeping an open mind though.

If you're undecided, I find that voting for the one with the nicest hair is usually a good way to go.

if you end up not being able to decide based on national policies, voting based on your local MP and what they'll do for your constituency will ensure you're still passionate about which way your votes going!
if i was still undecided between lib dem/tory i defo would've sided with tory based on the fact that my local tory MP has actually been an amazing for our constituency
My family is a full up Labour family (in a mega safe Tory seat lol) and despite being in complete and utter despair at the current leadership I think we'll likely realize they're the only option and vote for them anyway.
Have you done that I side with quiz? Pretty good at showing who your views are most aligned with.

I did for the last election which did help. I haven't yet this time around but will be doing so closer to the date.

Yeh, taking local considerations into account really influenced my vote in the last election. As I said though, thankfully my MP isn't standing again which I'm very happy about!

I just took one of those, and it said that I sided most with the effin' Green Party (53%), and that I should move to Swindon, so I don't know if those surveys are particularly trustworthy. It did say I was a centrist though, so it got that bit right.

My mum is one of those "won't vote they're all the same and awful" people but my extended family are the sort who actually stan UKIP, idk which is worse.

I think I've made my mind up for Labour, as I'll be voting at uni and our constituency is one of the smallest Tory majorities, and I was quite undecided but sided with Labour according to that ISideWith site, plus I've looked at the MPs and he seems the best.

66% Tory, 62% Lib Dem and 60% SNP :') interestingly though, it put my ideology as SLIGHTLY centre-left (which currently i would say is bang on).

Mine was:

79% | SNP

77% | Plaid Cymru

75% | Liberal Democrat

66% | Sinn Féin

61% | Conservative

60% | Labour

55% | Democratic Unionist

55% | Green

50% | UKIP

40% | BNP

Isidewith tells me I should vote Sinn Fein. Somehow I doubt they'll be standing in Bournemouth West. It also suggests I should move to Devon where it would be just as difficult to vote Sinn Fein.
