Her first major release, The Love Club EP, was released commercially in March 2013. The EP reached number two on the national record charts in both New Zealand and Australia. In mid-2013, Lorde released her debut single "Royals". It became an international crossover hit and made Lorde the youngest solo artist (and the only New Zealander) to achieve a US number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 since 1987. In late 2013, she released her debut studio album, Pure Heroine. The record topped the national charts in New Zealand and Australia and reached number three on the US Billboard 200. In 2014, Lorde released "Yellow Flicker Beat" as a single from the soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. Lorde's music consists of subgenres such as dream pop and indietronica. She has earned two Grammy Awards, a Brit Award and ten New Zealand Music Awards. May 12, 20179 yr 'Green Light' still sounds incredible. Lorde delivering one of the best songs of the year thus far  bring on 'Melodrama'.
May 12, 20179 yr Sia's sales at #4 last year would be enough for #1 this week :( Happy for Despacito to get #1, it's pretty good and nice to have a foreign language song reach the top, but the version with Justin Bieber is vastly inferior and rather frustrated that the public will rush to buy a song just because he features :P
May 12, 20179 yr makes no sense skipping Kygo/Ellie either Well it's falling and they aren't at Big Weekend like Lorde is :D
May 12, 20179 yr Green Light is so good, and commercial enough, so I'm surprised it wasn't a bigger success. Still, I don't worry for Lorde as I don't think she's too bothered about chart success.
May 12, 20179 yr iSpy getting skipped for no reason *.* Hope it stops climbing ASAP. Decent longevity for Lorde, hope this bodes well for her next single!
May 12, 20179 yr iSpy getting skipped for no reason *.* Hope it stops climbing ASAP.It's such a choon tho! Can the UK and US switch chart runs for it? :P
