West Ham are putting together a decent squad for the new season! "The little pea" will certainly do some damage for them and I have a feeling that he will score when he comes back to Old Trafford for the first match of the season. I'm tempted to edit my 11th place prediction that I made for them.

Mendy looks set to join Man City from Monaco for £52m.

The Neymar stuff is crazy. Annoyed that there is a fair amount of speculation about Coutinho. I mean he will leave at some point, but I'll be gutted if it's this summer. Selling Neymar is the worst thing Barca could do.

I've had a proper look at our squad again. Despite all the usual panic from Liverpool fans that we're yet to sign anyone, I honestly think we only need 4 players and then we'll be set for the season. That would be Salah who looks close to joining, a central defender (Still think Van Dijk is a possibility), a central/attacking midfielder and a left-back. So around a £150m spend I would say and then we're likely to bring in money from Sakho, Markovic etc. too.

A month later..

Salah and a left-back done (Robertson). We also seem pretty fixated on Van Dijk and Keita with potential for an Oxlade-Chamberlain transfer. It's clear they are the main targets with no real back up options being mentioned.

All seem pretty complicated though and look to drag on a bit. I wouldn't be too fussed if we missed out on Keita though to be honest. Van Dijk is the one for me and Oxlade-Chamberlain would be a good option due to his versatility.

I've always thought Coutinho would leave for Barcelona next summer. I'm not worried about him leaving this summer at all. I'd expect Klopp will be telling him to stay for another year and then we'll allow him to leave in a years time. A bit like how Suarez ended up staying in 2013 and then left in 2014.

He'll be worth more next year too assuming he has another great season and then goes on to do well in the World cup.

Swansea have rejected a £40m bid from Everton for Siguardsson.

In other news- West Ham have signed Javier Hernandez for £16m.

Reports that Real Madrid are close to signing Mbappé for £160M. I can understand the Neymar price but this is just absolutely ludicrous for some kid who had a wonder half-season playing with, let's face it, not exactly a tonne of pressure.

But then again Madrid aren't strangers to overpaying & not playing (Kaka, James etc.)

While it's a ridiculous price, this is the one transfer that I think is worth it in the long term. The guy is ridiculously good for one. Check his stats out.. there's only one player who has similar stats to him at a young age in recent times - Lionel Messi. Of course Mbappe needs to keep performing consistently, but if his numbers stay consistent, the guy has the potential to be on Messi levels.

But I do think it's a move too early. He needs to play week in week out, while I'm not sure that's possible with Benzema.

That is a truly insane sum of money. For someone who had a break through in a poor league.

Can see him having a Martial path in the next 2 years at the very least

Martial's problem looks to be his attitude. I think he's a fantastic player, but Mourinho doesn't seem to rate him (probably not a hard enough grafter).

Mpabbe is the real deal imo. Ligue 1 isn't actually that bad, loads of players move to the Spain/England and make it fine. Plus, don't forget, Mpabbe was doing exceptionally well in the Champions League... don't think even Ronaldo/Messi scored in the Champions League at 18.

Rumours Coutinho has agreed a deal at Barca!

Can't see it myself. Reckon we will play hard-ball and he will go next summer.

According to Catalan radio. Barcelona have already agreed personal terms with Philippe Coutinho. But we'll have to wait and see what happens there.
Liverpool are screwed if Coutinho goes, they probably wouldn't have finished in the top 4 if he wasn't in their team last season.

It was more Mane they struggled without last season so if he stays fit for the season, and with Salah firing they'll probably still have a decent chance of top 4 again.

No doubting Coutinho was their star player though, will be very hard to replace what he brought to the team.

All the noise is coming out of Barcelona. For me they are trying to unsettle the player. Not one reputable journalist has commented and I cannot see Liverpool agreeing to a deal this summer.

We are definitely not screwed if he leaves. He is the player with the highest ceiling for sure, but as Dobbo says our problem in the latter half of the season was more we lacked pace (although we didn't really do too badly, it was Jan/Feb where we let the season go).
