6 weeks on the update chart, not the main chart which is 254 weeks (plus 16 weeks for the 1987 version).
Going to be a close run thing for the number 1 Album, The Beatles may just do it...

1 The Beatles - Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club (24.4k) ^

2 Ed Sheeran - ÷ (17.0k)

Why do you say close? Have streams not been included?

Very good iTunes sales. It's sold nearly 20k already and 99% of that is from download sales.

Great to know - so it's looking for a top 5 finish this week then. :cheer:

1 The Beatles - Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club (24.4k) ^

2 Ed Sheeran - ÷ (17.0k)

Why do you say close? Have streams not been included?

The Beatles will be more front-loaded than Ed but 30k should secure number 1 this week, will be surprised if they don't do it.

by how much did Ed outsell Beatles yesterday?
Maybe hitting #1 on the album chart will be the breakthrough success these Beatles have been waiting for ;)

So "One Last Time" should be safe for top 10 with those numbers right?

Ariana is having a benefit concert this Sunday for the Manchester attacks - with Katy Perry/Coldplay/Justin Bieber and others set to perform also. Will be interesting to see what effect that'll have on next week's chart.

I think the almost 9k figure covers a couple of days, but she'll only need ~7-8k more realistically to stay top 10 and that's manageable over the course of three days!

What final figures could we expect from Beatles and

sheeran by Friday?

OK I've just done some calculations - if everything sold half of what its "daily" sale was yesterday for the rest of the week (not gonna happen but it's just an estimate of course), we'd end up with:

4 Captain Ska

7 Ariana Grande (4k ahead of #11, and even bearing in mind there will be 1 day of streaming upweighted, it should be OK for top 10 at this rate)

14 Rita Ora

30 Little Mix

40 Hailee Steinfeld
