We seem to be forgetting the fact that Liverpool lost 4-1 to Tottenham at Wembley earlier this season......

It's not a strange occurrence to lose to Tottenham.

Agreed we were poor but Spurs a good side and are making a habit of beating the top teams this season!

So, Pep only took 6 subs to Burnley today. WTF.

There's PL clubs that look at the City Academy budget with envy. It's supposedly one of the best facilities in the world and they couldn't find anyone in their U23's to be a bench warmer?!?!

Can only assume he was pissed at the owners for missing out on January transfer targets, seems pretty bizzare otherwise. I know their U23s played last night but surely you would ask not to play 1 or 2 to be in with a chance of making the bench for a proper game.

Very bizarre 'protest' if that is what it turns out to be about.

They could have picked literally anyone from their academy to be a bench warmer. There was no chance of them getting a go on the pitch so why not expose someone to the full set up? Could have made a kids year.

Baffling.

My best guess is that's what it is about. I think Pep will use young players, but only if they are ready or he seems something in them (e.g. Foden). That's my best guess anyhow as otherwise I don't see why he would not have put a youth player in the squad.

Pep and the rest of the Man City players have been moaning about getting "butchered" and that they need protection in matches to stop opposition teams hurting their players so it could have had something to do with that. Do they honestly believe that teams wont try to rough them up on the pitch? that's what they get for being the runaway leaders.

Not as if it just happens to them. Huddersfield today would be most accurately described as feral. They had to make a first half sub so they didn't end up on 10 men!!

It's really odd. It's like pep is cracking up in spite of being runaway leaders and basically having the trophy in their barren cupboard already. Plus he can do no wrong in the eyes of the press. Baffling man.

Even though it's extremely unlikely to happen I would love for Manchester City to have a "Chelsea 2015/16" season next year. The meltdowns from Pep would be hilarious.

Well he has a point, but its the same for all the top clubs. Sometimes bad tackles happen.

There is no chance of that happening.

But there was no chance of it happening to Chelsea back then, so everyone thought :P

Also, I recently read that every single league winning manager of the last 10 seasons bar Sir Alex has been sacked/left the very next season & it's more than likely gonna happen this year too. I personally can't see a "meltdown" but their owners will be expecting complete domination next season as well & if that doesn't happen it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Pep chucked.

In other news the relegation battle this year is hopefully gonna be a cracker, I want another 10/11 final day feast!

Well maybe so, but this Man City side is streets ahead of that Chelsea team. And the reason why Chelsea self destructed is because the manager fell out with the players so they downed tools.

I don't believe that fact with Pep, their whole setup is for him and even if they did.. who else would they get? There are no big glamour managers out there anymore. I mean I suspect he won't stay there anymore than 4 years because that's what he does.

Everton are going to be right back there in the relegaion battle  Couldn't call it right now but West Brom and Huddersfield look in the most trouble, both in terrible form.

A crazy last 10 minutes of the Liverpool vs Tottenham match, 2 fantastic goals scored in the match by Wanyama & Salah as well. I'm glad I've got Salah in my fantasy team and I was debating whether to swap him for Kevin De Bruyne but I didn't in the end. It looked like Tottenham dived twice to get their penalties and it took a lot of guts for Harry Kane to take the 2nd penalty after having the first one saved.

If anyone ever disagrees about VAR then the Liverpool-Spurs game shows how much it is needed.

Absolutely diabolical performance by the officials.

Well the last one was definitely a foul, not sure about the first, that did look like more a dive.

WOW at that Wanyama goal though. Great result for us that.

The first one was never a penalty. One he was offside and two he dived, or 'played' for the penalty.

Second yep there was contact, but a penalty, I am doubtful. Lamela has played for it, and he was offside to begin with. Really soft especially since there were so many tackles in the first half which went unpunished.

Dele Alli has been useless this season, his dive was terrible. Don't see the point of having this ban for dives if players aren't banned for diving in the first place even if refs spot it. It's stupid

Blimey - for 85 minutes the officials had it easy at Anfield then all hell broke loss!

Brave assistant at the end to give that penalty- Mind you he missed the potential offside for Spurs' first.

Both Kane and Lamela (spelling) made the most of both "fouls"

Shame as there were 2 excellent goals which won't get the headlines!

Say what you want about Mourinho but since his spat with Conte they've absolutely imploded, king of the mind games! (After Fergie of course).

Think the Napoli manager is the fave? But they'll be keen to tie him down given how well they're doing this season.

Chelsea replacing Matic with Bakayoko
