I think he’s a disgusting human, spitting is f***ing vile, but he was goaded and quite heavily at that. There is blame on both sides and GMP should be issuing fixed penalty notices for their driving without due care and attention/using a phone behind the wheel.

I’m in two minds about him being sacked. He’s not entirely to blame for the situation but he chose to react how he did and that was in the most disgusting manner possible and that shouldn’t go unpunished. Not envious of the person making that call

This is my take too, I like Carra a lot but you cannot defend that. The video was heavily edited and I am sure he was goaded a lot more than it makes it out to be. He's come out and apologised.

The driver of the vehicle also bares a lot of the blame. Twatish thing to do and also deciding to use his phone while driving. While he might get some money from selling the video I am sure he's going to get a big fine, a lot of online abuse and a ban from driving.

Feel sorry for the girl.

I completely agree. The only real victim here is the poor girl who was stuck in the middle of them and is the one who got spat on. Really hope that GMP do follow up with prosecutions for the driving. Neither were paying attention to the road and use of a mobile is dangerous and illegal. At motorway speeds, someone could have died had things played out differently.

The United fan defo overstepped the mark by quite some distance.

Football rivalry is getting so toxic, like much of the discourse in the country right now. I quite enjoy a good bit of banter inside the stadium but once I’m out I’m done. I’m no interested. Win or lose it’s only football there’s nae need to be violent about it or go round spitting at folk. It’s so needless

Looking back the video yes. The driver deciding to use his phone while driving probably yes did goad him than the video makes out to be. He shouldn't have reacted like that, He's come out and apologised for it.

Not nice for the girl at all.

No need for that at all. You can have banter. But yes once you're out the stadium that's done. It is only football. No need to be violent about it and run onto the pitch and make a statement and cause children to have to sit on the subs benches at West Ham. Spitting at folk is an no-no.

I hope that GMP do follow up with prosecutions for the driving. They both played a part in that.

Wonder if they'll be able to keep this up next season?

I don't think they will, even if they win the league again next season it will be a lot closer than it is at the moment as the teams behind them will be stronger next season and other teams will find out ways to beat them just like what has happened to Chelsea this season. It was City's 18 match winning streak that put them so far ahead and I don't think any team will match that for a long while.

Michael Carrick has confirmed that he will be hanging up his boots at the end of the season.

Quite a savage hounding from the newscaster here in this interview, it borders very heavily on being unprofessional to be honest:

I feel sorry for him - look everyone can get on their high horses about it, but haven't we all done something we regret from time to time? It's strange that Carra got so wound up by it as he will have undoubtedly taken so much more on the football pitch, but it could just have been stress, family issues, a bad day to make him snap. Fair play to the guy he's come out and done the right things and gone on TV. So many others would have just have made a statement.

As for City, no they won't run away with the league like they have done this year. I suspect Liverpool and Manchester United (and potentially Spurs) will both be close, whether it's enough I do not know. They're a good side, but got a lot of luck in the early seasons followed by Man Utd pressing self destruct. I know I'm biased but for what it's worth I genuinely think Liverpool won't be too far away next season. Even now if I look at fine margins where big decisions went against us (Everton, West Brom, Man Utd, Spurs) we would only be 7-8 points behind City and that's with City having all the luck in the world thus far on the field (less so with injures).

Yeah she was hella unprofessional there, she was talking to him as if he was a murderer or something! It's been blown way out of proportion but I guess you're inviting that to happen if you're a figure such as he is.

And I CAN'T at Joey Barton condemning his actions, the biggest scumbag the sport has ever or ever will see!

Probably the most justified sacking of the season that. Soton completely deserve their predicament after sacking Puel for no good reason last year.

If they go down with they

a) sell their entire first team to Liverpool

or

b) sink like a stone because their primary revenue stream (conning Liverpool into overpaying for mediocre talent) dries up

That is true in terms of club pedigree but personally I can see Stoke in the PL next season but not Soton! Only 8 games is a tall order & they have a tough run-in.
Mourinho well on the way to completely losing it. I thought he's throw players under the bus, but he's practically thrown the club under it

West Brom are now 10 points away from safety having played a game more than most of their rivals after losing 2-1 to Bournemouth. Their relegation will probably be mathematically confirmed in April. The other 2 relegation spots could be decided on the final day of the season.
