Good pre-season for us, but we have no strength in depth. Going to be our problem unfortunately. Our first XI is as good as anyone in the league, but we don't have the squad to compete in 4 competitions. Already got a couple of injuries, one or two more and we're in the doop.

After winning the Community Shield on penalties yesterday the cycle has begun again on ArsenalFanTV , I don't know how the idea of winning the league this season can even cross their minds. Man United are unlikely to win the league but Arsenal are in even worse shape than us. I'm already looking forward to the inevitable meltdowns between December & March

I only saw the highlights of the match but Chelsea look weaker squad-wise than last season and their formation will not take anyone by surprise this time around. They will also have Champions League football to deal with and a higher possibility of injuries to their squad compared to last season.

I think United are looking in decent shape - city are the only team who look better on paper for me!
City will be all about how their back 4 of complete strangers can get used to performing consistently together. Extremely attacking but if teams go at them I'm not sure their defence will hold. Chelsea did look weak in the Shield game but they had a few out & still have a solid core. The Matic selling is a bit strange considering they're playing much more games this season.

It kicks off then tonight with Arsenal v Leicester City on Sky Sports.

How do you see that match going?

It will either be a draw or a narrow home win for Arsenal. 1-1 draw or a 2-1 win for Arsenal.
We had the whole Wenger out & in Wenger we trust performance in one tonight! What a great match to kickstart the new season.
this season is going to be absolutely brilliant if that's anything to go by. that was more entertaining than 90% of last seasons matches!

Liverpool.............

I just hope that Man United don't do the same or worse tomorrow against West Ham! Two brilliant matches for the neutral to start the season with, anyone who was fortunate enough to watch both of those matches live must have been thoroughly entertained.

Chelsea losing 3-0 to Burnley at the moment as well! I wonder if this season is going to be like how the 2015/16 season was?, especially how that season was in the early stages with constant surprises every week.

If that Chelsea-Burnley match is anything to go by, this season's going to be one helluva rollercoaster ride....

Interesting start to the season!! Would have expected Burnley to lose that particular match.

United today and the club are telling people to be there an hour before kick off or risk missing kick off!! Massively increased security at the ground following recent events. We have a few attendees here so I'll let you know just how long the new security actually takes

Not gonna get carried away over one performance but that was about as perfect as it could get. Lukaku & Matic were both immense, the signs are certainly strong this season on that showing. Not too clear how much it was down to West Ham's failure to turn up.

Very entertaining match!! Very good way to start the season! ^_^

We still need to buy a winger for sure. Really need that width to our game. Martial could potentially be the answer but we'll see. He looked good today, was glad he scored.

I don't think it's a good measure of the season ahead. Daily Blind had a shot at goal ffs I mean you can't take anything from a match where the opposition has allowed that to happen

Opening day is always hard to judge as you never know how many teams are truly there yet. Good wins for Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs.

Lost a bit of enthusiasm for this season as Liverpool are way behind and selling Coutinho this season will be incredibly difficult at this late stage of the window. Point not the worst start in the world though from yesterday, some positives and a few good old same old same olds!

Absolutely! Not to mention that with a long time left on the transfer market yet there's still a lot of time for teams to improve or do a Chelsea
