To be honest I haven't come across any Man United supporter in person or on radio/internet that is over-excited about our start to the season because we've experienced this multiple times in the past. In the 2011/12 season we won 6 out of our first 7 games but we didn't win the league in the end. We're just pleased with how we're playing football at the moment after the past few years of 0-0 draws at Old Trafford and David Moyes sabotaging our club, LVG's philosophy which made attacking football take a back seat.

If you listen to our fans on the radio phone-ins or on our YouTube fan channels everyone is saying that they're not getting carried away and that it's too early in the season to judge. For me personally it wont be until November/December time that I will start to take the league table seriously, the likes of Huddersfield & West Brom will be nowhere near the top by then and more of last season's top six will play against each other by then. I know that we've got Arsenal & Man City back-to-back around that time.

True, although it's good to get points on the board too to place pressure on the rest!

I'm really pleased that we're putting points on the board but what I'm actually excited about is that we're scoring goals. 10 in three games is great compared to our past 3 whole season totals.

Any united fan I speak to is more happy that we're killing games off instead of having a nervy 1-0 score line where some mid table dross can drop in a wholly undeserved equaliser at the dying moments (I f***ing hate Giroud). We all know exactly who we've played so far this year. West Ham was a draw at OT last year, this year it was three points and a smashing game. We ran riot at Swansea in just 4 minutes. From what I've seen it's that that has the united fans frothing at the mouth. There's been some genuinely great and exciting football.

I think we're optimistic about our chances but more excited about what's potentially to come. I'm really looking forward to playing the top 6 to see how we set up and if we can play how we've been playing. Liverpool and Arsenal for example are there for the taking of they play the way they have been as their set up plays into our hands. The NW derby could be quite a high scoring match this year

Yeh exactly right about united games against Liverpool the way they play - Kloop needs to show against defensive teams that set up to counter the press he can outwit them - should be intriguing!

You really have to feel for Oxlade-Chamberlain

He didn't get much help to be fair!

Terrible result, but not reading too much in to it. City are a great team and losing at their place is no shame. The red card ended the game as a contest, even before the card I thought we would have been really lucky to get the 3 points. Personally I don't think it was a red.. seems to have divided everyone. I see both cases but not for me with regards to the circumstances. Oh well, take the defeat on the chin. These things happen from time to time.

I just meant with regards to 2 huge defeats in a row with different teams. Think his Arsenal debut was the 8-2 game too, poor chap!

Oh yeah the game was right in the balance before the red (which I thought was harsh), I'd say you had the better chances before that as well but 2nd half was just cruise control for them. Certainly can't read too much into that result, they'll probably go back to struggling next week against Watford.

Oh yeah, but that's football. At least with this defeat the players didn't look as limp as Arsenal did.

City are probably the worst team to play against with 10 men. You can't cut their lines off so they toy with you as they did today. De Bryne had all the time in the world to spray balls all over the pitch. We gave up and put in an abject performance. But I felt really hard done by the red card - a yellow at most for me. City looked fantastic, but they have looked pretty average to date. Jesus is an absolute player though - he was brilliant today.

Wow! I could never have imagined that result, I thought that Man City would win but to win 5-0 is astonishing. I saw an interview Jurgen Klopp did for Soccer AM where he said that he is normally a calm person off the pitch but once he enters the technical area he becomes a different person. I'm sure that will not be the case today!

Hopefully United will get the three points away at Stoke today but we don't really have a good record at the Britannia Stadium so it will be a tough match.

Brighton managed the win today, and a clean sheet at that, IIRC....nice to see them pull off the win.... :) :)
No clean sheet but I doubt they'll care. Off the mark (well, moreso) & away from danger (for now).

Thanks for the correction, Dobbo...

The match against Stoke was quite a frustrating watch and it reminded me of last season but on the positive side it was nice to see Lukaku get on the score sheet again and we haven't lost ground on any of the other teams. Chelsea are really creeping up the table now after losing their first match, they're only one point off top spot after winning against Leicester today.

Surely Southgate should pick Butland as No 1 for England now. Some good saves today. Surely Jack ahead of Hart now.

A solid performance from Spurs against a very ordinary and poor Everton who looked toothless today.
Great result for Brighton, played well and Ryan pulled off some great saves..hopefully more of this to come :)

Yous have City are equal on points with you now!

I know. What I meant by us not losing ground on other teams is the fact that we are still top of the table and are not catching up to anyone yet like we were last season when we kept drawing matches. If we had lost then we wouldn't be top at the moment, even though it doesn't count for much this early in the season.
