June 17, 20178 yr I really don't think the lyrics are gonna limit this song as much as some think, it's just sounds like such a club-y summer-y banger and I totally see it being played loads over the summer, I've already had a few friends show me the song saying how they liked it, both straight guys.
June 17, 20178 yr This is clearly more female empowered than watered down Power. Can't see this doing well at all. YDKM attracted a wide audience whereas this will only attract a female and gay male audience..WHAT I personally think it'll miss the top 40ON I think it'll miss the top 40 because 1) It's not a good song 2) It isn't going to attract a wide audienceEARTH are you talking about!? Since when has the lyrics/message of an empowering song hindered that songs success? It's also not going to miss the top 40 because YOU think it's "not a good song".
June 17, 20178 yr I personally disagree that it will have a wider audience. It will be appeal to the males, females, LGBT and certain music genres. So I am thinking it will not bomb and can see it being a hit.
June 17, 20178 yr It's alright. Definitely not as good as most of you are making it out to be though!I definitely prepped myself up to have this opinion, but I JAMMED HARD when I first heard it waiting for the bus in this weather!!! *.* WHAT AN ABSOLUTE CORKER! *.*
June 21, 20178 yr Surely guys (who are into girls) listening will interpret 'all my ladies' as 'all my girlfriends' or 'all the girls in the club'??
June 21, 20178 yr Surely guys (who are into girls) listening will interpret 'all my ladies' as 'all my girlfriends' or 'all the girls in the club'??Not really. I just don't take lyrics too seriously and enjoy the tune regardless :P
June 24, 20178 yr Can't see this doing well at all. YDKM attracted a wide audience whereas this will only attract a female and gay male audience.. I see where you are coming from, rather than the lyrics I am looking at it genre/production/style of vocal wise more and certainly lively/ funky house like this has been stereotyped by many as appealing to these audiences most, the rest of the audience (straight males) being seen as preferring more minimal house like YDKM or the likes of Tom Zanetti. I really hope these stereotypes aren't completely accurate though. Realistically though, judging by what dance music has made the chart over the last year or so, minimal dance music does tend to be considered inoffensive in general and regardless of demographics of the audience, appears to appeal to more people who steam/buy songs in general sadly compared to more maximal and fun sounding dance music like Instruction, so therefore it might struggle to do well. I really hope it does do well though, as I really like it! Edited June 24, 20178 yr by The Snake QT
June 24, 20178 yr How can you guys say that, when 'Power' is currently smashing!? That's one of the biggest female empowerment songs in a while. And it also hasnt stopped songs like 'Single Ladies' in the past.
July 11, 20178 yr It's on Hot Songs which explains the climb, hopefully it can make this week's official top 40 :cheer:
July 14, 20178 yr Making a brief cameo to say that it is more important than LIFE ITSELF THAT THIS BECOMES A HIT
