I think that's a good trade. Quite a few former finalists not making it this time around, As Long As You Love Me, Gangnam Style, Wild Ones, Greyhound, Give Your Heart A Break and Girl On Fire were all in the final just last year! Freshness abounds! It's definitely the first time that Young has made it through I think and On The Metro has really outperformed, I didn't even recall that ever charting but it's got a big following here clearly. Run Boy Run and Flaws are also new qualifiers, but more on the alternative side of the spectrum. Representation for that is always good. Also new songs for Lana Del Rey (twice), DJ Fresh with Hot Right Now and in 2nd, Love On Top was nowhere near the final last year (if it was nominated, it probably wasn't with this score) but sails through just behind Try which stormed ahead.

(Seriously though :D !!!)Â Good showing for M.I.A. / Usher / Jessie Ware, at least one of those to get an AQ slot (or get back in Usher's case, still aghast it took until my post to get that renominated x). Much closer than I expected for The xx there as well!
