I haven't followed the charts for a long time, probably since ttal was released and even then I didn't really care/understand them but it's great to see she is at number 1 on iTunes 💕

 

I may sound a bit thick/old/outta touch here but can someone explain to me how charts work now with music being released on Fridays (when is the weeks official number one announced?) how the streaming thing works and how it affects the charts

 

Basically two years ago a worldwide release date of a Friday was decided on and the chart was moved from Sunday to Friday and I haven't listened since (who has the time on a Friday night?) chart now counts the week as Friday-Thursday and Radio 1 have a New Music Friday. This move also prompted artists to make their music on air/on sale so tracks are now immediately available to purchase just like Pink today.

I think the chorus needs to grow on me a bit, but I'm pleased with it.

it's pleasant and it has the bare bones down but there's exploding that needed to happen that didn't

I kinda feel anything more "exploding" or harsh would ruin the integrity of the lyrics and make it lose some of its power. I think the production perfectly suits what she is

siinging.

Totally into this on first listen. Sounds like something that could do really well in the charts and stick around for a while as well!

The song sounds very famillar I don't know what it reminds me of but I love it regardless. Big hit for her please. She really is the queen of consistency.

Well this was a very pleasant unexpected suprise, I love this lady and this song was a love on first listen, hope it rightfully smashes!

A video in the similar style to Kelly Clarkson's Dark Side would be pretty great and would make a perfect statement to create a bit of buzz around the track.

Radio 1 played it this morning and there was a lot of positive feedback on the texts.

 

Also my sister text me at 1 in the morning to ask if I'd heard it and she's been streaming it non stop for half an hour :lol:

Will be listening to it on repeat when I'm back at work next week for sure! I'll admit I haven't listened to it as much as I have obsessed over lead singles in the past, but the music is growing on me :heart:

She's doing insanely well on iTunes, I doubt she'll make up the Spotify difference to beat Dua Lipa officially but even if she got #2, or top 5, in a year like 2017 where bloody Despacito was #1 for 3 weeks and 17 years into her career will be incredible. Depending on how Spotify goes and how it builds and how it holds up on iTunes I feel she could climb to #1 in the coming weeks, then there's radio play kicking in too.

Much as I hate Dua's song, seeing an all female top 2 in such a male dominated year would be a joy. Plus to see P!nk getting a top 3 hit so far into her career when the likes

of Britney and Madonna can't even get top 20 would be nice too. Xtina....time will tell but I can't see her doing this well either.
