It is sales and they add up as we clearly saw with Dancing constantly picking up sales along the way resulting in solid sales.

Someday the song may get a new lifeline via a TV commercial.

Unlikely, but not impossible.

I'd love that to happen for a song like this but flower getting used on emmerdale set my hopes high for it all to fall flat.

That was a one off airing of the a song.

A commercial gets multiple airings that would benefit greater if it was to happen.

In the modern day of Kylies singles performance Music's Too Sad Without You has performed exceptionally strong.

It is likely Music's Too Sad Without a fifth single will remain on higher sales than any of the Disco singles.

If Music's Too Sad Without You had a physical it would have obtained a chart placement very easily.

An overall looked success for a song that never charted officially.

MTSWY done brilliant all things considered, its a shame it didnt register in the chart as its sales suggest it was a success for Kylie, its incredible that a 5th single has outsold a lead single so hats off to it.

This is not exactly a fair comparison. Music's Too Sad Without You is over 2 and a half years old, so it's had a significantly longer time to rack up sales. Say Something is only approaching its 6th month of availability.

It's inevitable that Say Something will overtake, if it hasn't already done so. Music's Too Sad Without You had sold 63,000 by June 2020, and probably 70,000+ by now. Say Something had already sold 55,000 in November 2020 and will have increased by thousands since then. It's currently getting much higher streams than MTSWY.

She should have performed it on X Factor with Jack....the ALTR performance worked great on tour but didn’t on TV...all MTSWY needed was a big performance and it would have sold much more. At least Jack added the album duet it to his special edition album. It’s nice to see it’s streaming figures are improving more than all the other Golden singles bar Dancing.

Gorgeous duet, who knows, it may turn out to be an enduring lilting ballad like WTWRG.

Totally agree though...Say Something, Magic and Real Groove are going to outsell MTSWY fairly soon as they are way more popular on streaming and will make up the severe drop in download sales.

If the song got a major tv performance it would have easily hit the charts.

The song is doing well picking up casual sales which is helping to build its sales numbers.

With time it could reach 200,000.

Say Something and Magic are likely to overtake but maybe not by much and they gained with real actual sales due to the physical.

Music's Too Sad Without You performed well on the iTunes paid sales platform.

I would welcome the 3 singles mentioned to all reach sales of 200,000.

The song got hardly any promo in the uk at all and for it to have done aswell as it has without a physical, big performance etc its done brilliant. I still think Kylie should have performed this on x factor instead of a life time to repair as it would have got more of a result.

It was only 2,000-ish physicals per single, a drop in the ocean really when it comes to the total sales. Most of Say Something's total is from streaming units.

I don't think you've got the right impression about the Disco singles in terms of their sales potential... Say Something is easily going to outdo Music's Too Sad Without You.

Kylie and Jack performed MTSWY on Jonathan Ross and Michael McIntyre, how are these not major tv performances / hardly any promo? This is what helped it achieve reasonably decent download sales.

Agreed, those were two pretty big promo slots (I'm pretty sure Michael McIntyre did better in the ratings than X Factor), you can't deny that. I'd have loved an X Factor performance as it would have tied in nicely with the beginning of its radio support and could potentially have given some more momentum behind the boosts of the promotion that followed, although I still don't know whether that would have been enough to chart.

A Top 100 placing would have been wonderful but, regardless, 'Music's Too Sad' easily outperformed the previous two singles and helped the album sell throughout Christmas, which ultimately is the most important thing.

The two performances we received were stunning, I was really pleased she managed to get Jack with her on both occasions (he's also very nice to look at  ):

X Factor....whilst a reduced force, is still the best for crossover sales....it’s a music programme first and foremost.

They definitely didn’t promote MTSWY enough.

This is still such a highlight from Golden, was listening to it today and I just love the song. I hope Kylie performs it when she tours.
