April 4, 20187 yr Unreal result, was not expecting that. Completely shell-shocked City and then even for all their possession in the second half they didn't have a shot on target!
April 4, 20187 yr I doubt Man City will go through after that as I cant see them winning 4-0 in the 2nd leg, Liverpool will probably score next week as well. Hopefully we'll have a break from the "Manchester City will win the Champions League, "best team in Europe", "they must be favourites" talk that has been said non-stop throughout this season. No matter who they have in their squad or who their manager is Manchester City just cant cope with Anfield. If every league match was played there they'd probably get relegated  Edited April 4, 20187 yr by Evil Houdini

They're still a great team, but it just goes to show the way to beat them is not to stand off and let them have the ball. Guardiola's CL record in knockout games away from home is pretty dreadful if you look at the stats. They will come firing out next Tuesday and I fully expect they will score at some point. Trent Alexander-Arnold was absolutely fantastic - man of the match performance.
April 4, 20187 yr Yeah I mean that's an absolutely incredible result, Pool fans should be buzzing with that.
April 4, 20187 yr Yeah I mean that's an absolutely incredible result, Pool fans should be buzzing with that. I am - slightly puzzled by Guardiola. I think he expected us to score, but he also expected Man City to score too. Struggling to think of a better defensive performance we gave 2nd half since the Rafa Benitez days.
April 5, 20187 yr Author Yeh one of my mates said after it went to 1-0 I wish we had Rafa in the dugout now as he would shut up shop lol.
April 5, 20187 yr For all city’s 16 fans and players like to sing about United parking the bus, they could have done with borrowing it! Great performance from Pool and would prefer them to advance over city. No question about that But yall hypocrites for praising your second half performance but decrying United for doing the same to you. Check yersel
April 5, 20187 yr Author I didn't see the full game tbf but it helps when your 3-0 up lol, balance is he word! Would you not rather City in the semis than Liverpool??
April 5, 20187 yr I’d rather you both out in the groups x The sooner city crash out the better as far as I’m concerned. Half my family are Liverpool fans so I don’t particularly buy into the rivalry.

Check yersel It's a different scenario though, European games are a different cry and away goals count massively. We only shut up shop at 3-0 up in the 2nd half, I also think Klopp wanted us to grab a 4th, but none of our players could keep the ball and started playing silly flicks. It was not like we purposely tried to keep the entire game cagey and win it in the last 30 minutes.

Still think Man City will try and fight back from this although unlikely.
April 5, 20187 yr Liverpool just need to nick a goal to put the tie to bed I reckon' as that would require City to score 5. Granted they did just that at the Etihad earlier this season but different circumstances completely this time round.
April 5, 20187 yr The 2nd leg will be closer than yesterday's match but the damage done in the 1st leg will be too much for City to overcome. A lot of pundits still think that they can go through but I don't think Liverpool will lie down and take a pummeling without causing problems for Man City's defence themselves.
April 5, 20187 yr Well of course City can score 3 goals but it just plays in to our hands as they piled men forward in the 1st leg and we hit them on the counter/transition. It will be a close game, but it's a tall ask as we are nowhere near as defensively weak as we were at the beginning of the season (I mean City's defence were awful last night and not much has been said about it). What makes it difficult is yesterday was played at a high intensity and both teams have derby games this weekend too which will be played at a high intensity, though I suspect the Merseyside one at a more frantic pace. Also depends is Salah is injured. It's difficult to play 3 games at high intensity in the space of 6 days.
April 9, 20187 yr Could depend how much those defeats have affected Man City. I expect this to be a high scoring match tomorrow.
April 10, 20187 yr Barcelona are out to Roma who go through on away goals. Third season in a row Barcelona have gone out in the quarters
April 10, 20187 yr Wow did NOT see that one coming at all! Madrid for the three-peat now surely?
