Liverpool will almost certainly get knocked out in the next round. So will we most likely if we get past Sevilla in the 2nd leg next week.

What makes you think that? The English teams are as good as the best of the rest this year. Real Madrid are strong but they will find it difficult against any of the English teams as they have no pace. Not saying I think we will win it, but it's a cup competition anything can happen.

Today was a really professional performance that we did not leave 2nd gear for.

It depends on the draw for the Quarter Finals of course but I would expect Barcelona, Real Madrid & Bayern to take up 3 out of the 4 Semi Final places which would leave one place available. I think people are underestimating Real Madrid a bit at the moment, they still look like a team that could win the Champions League to me despite their inconsistent domestic form. They played well again tonight against PSG who were one of the favourites for the competition.

Let's not forget Spurs beat Real Madrid quite comfortably. I think people are over-estimating Barcelona and Real Madrid especially. Both are nowhere near as good as recent years. Barca's midfield is pretty weak but I think their defence is underrated. It's a cup competition so anything can happen but the English teams this year are in a much better position and can actually compete with some of the bigger forces in European football over the past 5 years.

Spurs will probably learn from their defeat against Juventus. As I expected, Juventus had much extra when it counted in the second half.
Didn't watch the game but appeared very naive from Spurs, who are still finding their feet amongst the big boys let's not forget! A defeat but not one to be ashamed of that's for sure.

Which four other teams do you think will make the quarter-final line-up?

For me it would be:

Man United

Roma

Bayern Munich

Barcelona

Hopefully Sevilla make it, so that it makes this last weekend less painful! (I also 100% do not want to meet Man Utd in the Champions League. I suspect they would say the same about Liverpool too).

Your wish has been granted. That was a bad performance from us gifting Sevilla so many chances and not taking enough of our own. The Champions League trophy will be staying in Spain this season but it wont be going to Sevilla either so that soothes the disappointment a bit. I was thinking getting to the quarter finals would have been a good achievement for us but it was not to be.

Sorry to the Man Utd fans on here, you're a good bunch but that was absolutely brilliant to watch, especially after the weekend. Man Utd were woeful. Bloody brilliant to see the "master tactician's" tactics fall flat on his arse. I genuinely think you could spend another £300m and you'd still be this bad!

There are few things more pleasurable in football than a Mourinho team losing, especially if A) it's against someone they really shouldn't and/or B.) ultra dull football

(it's usually the only way of obtaining any pleasure watching a big game one of his teams features in )

That was rather cathartic. Having a shit day and I genuinely feel better now having spent 90 minutes screaming at our useless bunch of overpaid pricks and the abysmal ref. That result was 100% deserved. They had to score once so they sat back and waited and we played right into their hands by continuing to be cagey and conservative and defensive. You park the bus in the 85th minute, not the 5th
So England has Tottenham & Man United knocked out already, Chelsea will get knocked out tomorrow. In the quarter finals Liverpool will get knocked out and hopefully Man City will get drawn against Barcelona so that they can get knocked out as well then it will be a clean sweep of English teams getting eliminated. A Barcelona vs Real Madrid final is what I'm hoping for now, it would be the El Classico that should have happened for ages but strangely has never occurred in a European Cup final.

Yeah the PL is still a million miles from back to being the powerhouse of Europe...

It's completely down to the shit tactics we deployed in the first leg. If you don't get an away goal you are totally asking for trouble in the reverse home fixture...

Completely this, couldn't happen to a more deserving fella. His press comments are complete car crash.

If you would have played attacking football you would have beaten Sevilla. They are a good side but you are better, on paper. This is not that English clubs are not good in Europe, it's pathetic percentage football played by Man Utd when they have the 2nd most expensive side in world football. Like Dobbo says, you score an away goal and it's a completely different tie.

Mou: "I've sat in this chair twice before, with Porto - Man Utd out, with Real Madrid - Man Utd out, so this is nothing new for this football club." #MUFC

Genuinely amazing. I can't believe Man Utd fans still support him

Sevilla deserved to go through, they were better than us not just tonight but even in the first leg as well. It doesn't change what will eventually prove to be a fact that no English team is going to win the Champions League this season.

Well tbf, we don't really have a choice! Who else is even out there. And we can't turn into a Chelsea constantly reshuffling the pack. We are certainly improving under him, it's just that City's mega-season has put everything into context. Like Houdini said, we had 0% chance of winning the CL anyway, not saying we should throw it of course but at least we avoided getting torn to shreds by one of the big hitters in the next round

And the players have to shoulder some of the blame too, Sanchez & particularly Pogba have been utterly useless for weeks...

Sanchez is turning out to be one of the worst buys of the season, but I guess that's what happens when you buy players to sell shirts. He's stunk the place out but he's also getting played out of position.

Personally I don't think you are improving under Mourinho. Under Van Gaal it was largely the same, except you controlled games more and were awful at attacking. Since then Mourinho has spent £300m and your best player is still De Gea. Personally with this group of players I think Ancelloti would be a great shout.
