So, the return of the OSCAR-WINNING Wizarding World franchise has started filming :cheer: This still doesn't have an official title so this is just a placeholder but we have a bit more news on the film now. Here's a plot synopsis from Warner Bros:

“Grindelwald has made a dramatic escape and has been gathering more followers to his cause – elevating wizards above all non-magical beings. The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore. But Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander.”

As well as the additions of Jude Law and Zoe Kravitz, the main four cast members from the last film will also be returning (Eddie, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler & Ezra Miller). Apparently, it will be set in various locations including London, New York and Paris.

So excited for this as I did really like the first one, I think Jude Law is going to be so charming in that role too

Officially titled 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald'. Sounds a bit clunky to me in all honesty but I love the promo image below - very excited to see Jude Law as Young Dumbledore :w00t:

Also, here's a rather messy statement from J.K. Rowling on the casting of Johnny Depp even after certain allegations against him were made:

I won't even watch, the first was one of the most overrated and disappointing films of recent times.

The first film was absolutely incredible, I'm excited for this one. I forgot it was coming this year

That has me a bit more intrigued/excited than the first one because it looks to actually have a plot!

Still needs to do a lot to convince me this whole thing isn't just for the money.

I'm really looking forward to this, Johnny Depp looks awesome in the trailer.

I absolutely loved the first movie, definitely more than some of the weaker HP films.

Definitely going to watch this! *_* Hopefully the pacing of the film is a little better than the first but otherwise it isn’t going to take me much to be won over.

You can read the comments on the trailer for most of the spoilers but what I've read so far is that

Nagini was once human

:o and

Dumbledore sees Grindelwald in the Mirror of Erised, confirming their relationship

.

I wasn't interested in the first film at all when it was released and only got around to watching it 6 months later on a plane but the whole premise (New York mainly) really bored me and didn't feel very Potter at all. Hopefully with the return to Hogwarts in this movie, it will pique my interest more - the trailer certainly feels a lot more 'Harry Potter' for starters.
