Basically naked Steven >>>>>>>

Ok just caught up. Obviously some retconning coming up tomorrow but can anyone actually take angry/violent Phil seriously? Always feel like I'm going to burst out laughing.

It's odd the two hander is tomorrow so we get no follow up to Vincent's arrest.

Not sure why Kim desperately needs a holiday tho. She doesn't work, doesn't look after Pearl and this episode was the first time I've ever seen her clean tbh,

Yeah her and Bex are getting their results. Looks like Bex will be getting some consoling from Mr Pryce ;)

Denise will scrape a C and they'll act like she has graduate from Cambridge lmao

(omg that sounds so dismissive but it was really offputing how they went on about the one GCSE shes doing to "better herself" when it was just one GCSE)

Denise got more screen time over her one GCSE than Skaks and Bex got for the 10+ they were probably doing.

Given her daughter is an Oxford graduate, a sole English Lit GCSE is really no big deal.

Omg apparently Jase wasn't Jay's real dad and it was the guy Phil killed in a car lot fire in 1994............ I cannot

I read that episode was shown in March 1994. Both the character of Jay & the actor Jamie Borthwick were not yet born when that took place so this is very strange.

The homeless guy technically could have been Jay's dad as Jay was born later that year (I seem to remember him turning 16 in late 2010) but it's all an unnecessary reach and how could Phil possibly know?

The guy was played by the guy who plays Tony in Hollyoaks as an interesting side fact.

The actor who played Jase at the time in 1994, was a binman in a BBC comedy called "Common As Muck", he really aged a lot between then and his Eastenders appearances.

I'm screaming at the second most ridiculous retcon in the show's history turning out to be a LIE! YES!!!!! I cheered.

But who would force Phil to lie to Jay like that?!

Just how ridiculous was that ending?. Also, soap episodes (unlike comedies) with just two characters in them never seem to work.

The guy who played Jase in 1994 in "Common As Muck" on the left (Steven Lord). He was 21 in this photo and played Jonno Fox. His on-screen father is the guy in the photo who later starred in "Benidorm".

13 years later in Eastenders

So yeah, yay at it all being a lie and all but I can't see why anyone would need Phil to say all that to Jay.

And how did Walford go dark in like 20 minutes?

That was primary school level scriptwriting, you know when we wrote stories that were all strange and unbelievable and then as a shocker twist we reveal at the end it was all a dream! (or was that just me?)
